It is super loud in here but you can still talk.
I found it initially searching up brunch spots in LA and loved the options here. The restaurant itself is roomy, cute decor. I liked it had a mix with seafood options as well. The food, let me just say me and my friend loved our meals! I had the Shrimp and Grits and she ordered Crab with Avocado Benedict and had a side of potato salad, which she absolutely loved as well. As a random find this is definitely a great spot for brunch. The server was amazing as well with her suggestions. Wish I can try the other dishes!
I must say two things: I did not find the ambiance too appealing and they you could hear through the open door it was extremely loud. Still, we gave it a try – and I can tell you: it was delicious. Our server – one you would describe as the typical California surfer boy – was extremely charming – so despite the so-so ambiance (the vibe of this place was great though) and the noise we will definitely go again. Would we make a 30+ min detour just to eat here (mandatory in my rating scheme to achieve five out five): again, oh yes!
If I had to give one suggestion, it would be to streamline the wait or seating process just a bit—it gets busy (which speaks to how good the food is), but a little more efficiency there would take the whole experience to the next level.
All in all, this place is a gem. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it if you’re looking for a spot with great food and even better vibes.
I ordered the shrimp and grits and she had the pulled pork hash. The shrimp was grilled and was very flavorful. They were cooked perfectly and very juicy. The grits were the perfect consistency and complimented the shrimp well. It comes with an egg on top and mine was over medium. Now I will say that it’s not a Cajun shrimp and grits, this one is mellow, but full of flavor. I’d definitely have it again.
Now that pulled pork hash,… Let me start by saying that I really wanted to order a second one to go. The flavor in the meat is very deep. It’s absolutely delicious and easily should be the star of the menu. The potato is crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. Topped with an egg, the trio are a bite that you’ll want over and over.
It’s not a place for quiet conversation as it gets very loud, but who has time to talk when you have all this delicious food in front of you.
The place was packed and we had to reserve a wait-list spot upon arrival. They texted us when we were up.
The server we had was very nice and helpful. He was kind and went out of his way to serve us well. Excellent vibe and service.
The food was very good. I had the chicken waffle sandwich. The breading on the chicken was next level good. The meat was not dry but perfect.
This is a good place to grab brunch or breakfast with a friend or a mini date.
