In Mountain View, CA. Named after a good friend of theirs, they opened the original “Giorgio’s” in the Foxworthy Shopping Center in San Jose, CA. One year later, cousins Anthony and Louise Dambruoso, affectionately known to the family as “Sash and Lou”, took control of the restaurant and ran it for the next eight years. Pictures and paintings of these folks still grace the walls of the establishment today. In 1968, Frank’s four sons assumed control of the restaurant and still own and operate it to this day. In 1997

PIZZA REVIEW #8 “Giorgio’s Italian Food and Pizzeria” San Jose, CA
Reviews
We ate only vegetarian food and there were good options for vegetarians. The food was served in good time. The portions were good and the taste was above average though not amazing.
Overall we enjoyed our time here.
We had a great experience thanks to our waiter, Dev. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. His recommendations were spot-on, and he checked in just the right amount. Service like this really makes a difference—thank you!
-Giorgio’s is a nice Italian restaurant.
-If you want to get full in a lively environment you should stop by for a meal.
Overall, this is a true neighborhood restaurant that serves plenty of happy locals!
Ordered take out from here in the past and never had any issues until tonight. Ordered a large margarita pizza and upon getting it home, saw that it has cilantro on top of it instead of basil. Tasted it too just to confirm it was in fact cilantro.
Called the restaurant to inform them of the mistake and the Assistant Manager Jose answers the phone, he proceeds to argue saying that it is basil and not cilantro. It was also close to closing (20 minutes) so they were not going to make another pizza and he claims they would take care of it tomorrow, whatever that means and ends the call.
Call back again to see if they can do the refund over the phone, he’s still adamant it’s basil and not cilantro and Jose just hangs up. So I drive down there fast before they can close up and throw their incorrect pizza on the counter in front of Jose. He responds with I don’t want to deal with this and I’m like is this not cilantro?
I tell him just to process the refund for this nasty pizza so I can get out of their zoo of a restaurant and get food elsewhere. A younger employee from the kitchen even confirmed it was cilantro.
The pizza also took forever and was overcooked on top of having cilantro on it. A traditional margarita pizza always has basil on it.
I know they won’t care but Giorgio’s has lost a customer this day, never have encountered such an unprofessional, immature manager as Jose, one that argues with, hangs up and wouldn’t resolve an issue courtesy of their mistake initially until I was down there, where he had no choice but to refund the pizza. Thanks for ruining dinner and wasting 30 minutes of my time with your subpar service and food.
And Jose if you see this I attached photos of basil and cilantro since you have a hard time identifying the difference between the two.
No wait for a table. Easy, covered parking in their lot.
George, our server, was friendly and attentive but had a lot of tables by himself.
Deliciously cold Prosecco was the right way to start.
Overall, the food was good! The traditional Caesar salad was our least favorite. Just too simple, bland.
Bruschetta was nice and the sautéed mushrooms in cream sauce were great with their fresh bread!
New York style lasagna was big and flavorful but seems assembled to order and is a different textural experience than the traditional lasagna. We would order it again!
Chicken Parm was generous and the spinach in aglió e olio was a great touch. Definitely would order it again.
Cheese pizza had a crisp, light crust and came out hot and cheesy.
Next visit will be to the bar for cocktails!
