Phenomenal service and food. Got so lucky with reservations on my birthday (Labor Day weekend). To make a reservation, you have to call and leave a voice message with your information and if there is availability, they will call you. They had a cancellation and I got the reservation I had requested (well, only a half hour difference). I was beyond excited to try their food after hearing about it for so long and my goodness was it incredible.

Coming from an Italian household with a father as a chef, we like to eat great food, especially Italian food. Everything was fabulous from the bread on the table to their homemade Bolognese sauce. Of course I had to get the milk fed veal Parmesan, which was the size of the plate if not bigger. I ate as much as I could and brought the rest home. There was no room left, but I had to try one of their many famous desserts. The chilled banana cream pie was unlike anything I had ever had. Absolutely delicious.

If you get a chance to go here, I highly recommend it. The service is impeccable. Everyone is extremely friendly with great personalities and attentive service. Do not eat all day before you go and even if there is no room, get dessert!

Party of 10 for my husband’s birthday this past weekend. Service is phenomenal, food is excellent, and we love the atmosphere. We did book about two months in advance and had an earlier reservation. It was packed when we left on a Saturday night. It’s a great byob place for special occasions.

I felt really lucky to get a table. They told me we could sit on the porch upstairs. It wasn’t cold or anything like that. It’s very warm. the women came over and read specials to us. My wife ordered clams in white sauce in spaghetti.I ordered the veal rib chop parmesan. The veal chop was great cooked to perfection. My wife’s clams and spaghetti was horrible.
Every bite of clam was like sticking my mouth in a sand. We mentioned something to them. The woman said , i’ve never heard anyone ever say that before. We felt put off, listen This place is not cheap. They asked if we wanted a box , we told them to throw it out. They did Not offer to take it off the bill. I was very disappointed hearing all the great reviews and things about this place.Yes, the rib chop was great. The salad, the woman called it a hoagie On a platter , she wasn’t lying , it wasn’t all that. The desert was ehhh,
very disappointed…..

Chef Vola’s Italian Restaurant is an absolute Atlantic City legend and lives up to every bit of its reputation. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you’re being welcomed into someone’s home—old-school, warm, and completely authentic.

The bone-in veal parmigiana is hands down the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly tender, enormous, expertly breaded, and topped with rich, flavorful sauce and melted cheese—it’s a showstopper and worth the visit alone. Every bite reminds you why this place is considered iconic.

Portions are generous, flavors are classic and bold, and the entire experience feels special from start to finish. Chef Vola’s isn’t just dinner—it’s an experience and a must-visit for anyone who loves true Italian-American cooking. If you can get a table, don’t think twice. Outstanding in every way.

I went to Chef Vola’s on February 18th with a group of amazing women, and from the moment we arrived, I knew we were in for something special.
First of all, I loved the vibe. It’s tucked away off the beaten path, reservation only and gives this underground speakeasy, sexy, intimate feeling. It feels exclusive in the best way… like you’re in on a secret. Absolutely loved that.
The food was incredible. And I don’t say that lightly, I’ve been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, so my standards are high. Every single dish that came to our table was cooked to perfection. The flavors, the execution, the consistency, all of it. There wasn’t one thing that disappointed. This will 100% be a repeat spot for me when I’m back in the area. But what truly made the night unforgettable was William.
William is the kind of server that every restaurant hopes to have. Professional, well-spoken, personable and completely on point the entire night. He was attentive without hovering, engaging without being over the top and he made us feel genuinely welcomed. We ended up being the last table there, literally closed the place down and not once did he make us feel rushed or like we were a burden. That says everything.
If I were still running restaurants, I would’ve tried to steal William immediately. Service like that is what creates repeat clientele. It’s what builds loyalty. It’s what makes guests feel like family.
William, thank you for an amazing experience. You truly elevated an already phenomenal meal. We’ll absolutely be back and we’ll be asking for you.

Truly delicious entrees and appetizers.
Our appetizer was the prosciutto with mozzarella & peppers, with some of the highest quality prosciutto I’ve had.
For entrees I had the crab cakes, my wife had the bronzino, and both were perfect.
The servers were friendly, knowledgeable and the great compliment to our overall experience.

I hadn’t been here in a long time, but went this past week. It was my dad’s first time, and he was very pleased with everything! We were seated upstairs inside which offers the most space so I was happy about that. (If you’re seated in the original basement dining room you get the full old school experience but it’s tight there!) Food does take a while, but I’d rather that than be rushed. Our server Tommy was amazing too…no pressure from him in any way but still attentive to our needs. We got to chat with him a lot at the end of our meal which was great as he was into a lot of the same things as us and very genuine.

The food was fantastic! We had wonderful service from start to finish — from the entrées to the desserts. A great bonus is that it’s BYOB, which makes the experience even better. The chicken Parmesan was excellent, the pasta was homemade and perfectly cooked, and both desserts we tried were delicious. Our server was very professional and attentive. The restaurant has a warm, old-school Italian feel — a true hidden gem in the city.
