Fantastic service and setting. We visited for breakfast and our server was attentive, knowledgeable and highly professional. Gluten free pancakes were available which were SO good. I loved my plate of gf pancakes with cranberries, and eggs and sausage. My boyfriend’s steak burrito could have had more steak and was a little lackluster, but was adequate for a breakfast plate. My boyfriend’s parent’s dishes were also quite tasty. All in all our food and service experience was very positive. Extra points for individual coffee carafes at the table.

Had the Scrod. Prior to my visit, I was unfamiliar with this term. I am now well acquainted and glad I was adventurous enough to try it. No regrets here. I love fish to begin with anyway. Very light, moist, flakey and flavorful. The turkey was very good as well. Wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is also very cozy and comfortable.

Thank goodness for them, especially Matt. We spent over 2 days in a freezing house after the blizzard and ventured out to find a hot meal. One problem: we had our old maltipoo with us and he was struggle to manage his temperature, so we couldn’t leave him at the house. They were so kind. Not only did they show us compassion by allowing g us to eat there with our dog on a leash, but the food was actually dang good!!! We will be back.

I grew up on the Cape and used to love the Hearth and Kettle under the old ownership. If you haven’t been in a while, here’s an update:
– They’ve replaced the authentic solid wood chairs with these bizarre, white plastic mod chairs that look so out of place I heard TWO separate tables comment on it.
– The carpet has been replaced with some fake wood vinyl stuff.
– Hobby Lobby style bible verses all over the walls, for some inexplicable reason. Call me old-fashioned (and I’m Christian), but I don’t think appropriate casual restaurant decor is literally religious texts.
– We were not greeted at the door. We entered and were told to “move out of the way” by a server leaving the kitchen with two plates. Then we had to stand there for probably five minutes until another employee came and looked at us, walked away without speaking, and then came back a few minutes later and sighed saying “you want a table?” We were then led to a table behind this hostess who was literally sighing with frustration that she had to seat us. Not that it should matter, but we were a party of two neatly dressed parents and two quiet children. Our server, however, was at least polite and professional.
– The food was more expensive than it used to be, but tasted quite good. The kids meals were laughable. A single strip of bacon and a single small pancake for $8.
People used to go here because it was cozy, comfy, and nostalgic. It’s been “revamped” by someone who has missed the point.

Our family was greeted pleasantly and got a nice table. We enjoyed our choices and had a very nice server. Only thing that misled us was the description of the mixed mimosas. Think they were called in flight ..
We all thought they were infused and one mimosas, but it was a serving of 4 different flavor of mimosas. They were ok, just a bit more fruity and bubbly .

Our go to for breakfast whenever we are in Yarmouth. Wonderful, hearty large portion breakfast’. Can’t get enough of the vegetarian breakfast. So good! Service is always top notch here and the atmosphere is comfortable and feeling of stepping back on time. Very busy typically but a large venue and always enough staff to make you feel like you are the only ones there. Highly recommend.

I had a Salmon with a side of Salad and bothered were Gluten free. My wife had a Lobster sandwich with a side of soup and salad. Portions were generous and the food was quite tasty. We liked the place so much we came for lunch the following day. Could not do a separate review, so here I am again. Ordered Greek salad and my wife ordered a ball of soup and a small Greek salad. So this lunch will cost between $15 and $20. Pictures will be added. Today I had breakfast. Plenty of delicious food. I ordered an omelette.

Being in a small plaza, this place was a pleasant surprise with a cozy colonial atmosphere. We were seated by a window that had a beautiful view.
The menu had some great offerings. Inhad the Turkey Stuffing melt with Mac & Cheese. It was excellent, some of the best turkey I’ve had eating out.
My husband had the Cape Cod Rueben, which was filling for him and tasted great.
The service was great, I was surprised by how fast our.food came out after ordering.
Over all, we both agreed it was a great choice on our day trip.

It’s not the H&K of old. Run down. We immediately noticed awnings all ripped and had a bad feeling even before we went in. Waitress was the saving grace of this place. Very understanding. My wife ordered waffle with bananas foster. It was drenched in a soggy sweet sauce that tasted nothing like bananas foster. Waitress asked if there was something else she wanted. She ordered linguisa egg and cheese on bolo. Egg was over cooked.. linguisa was nothing more than a fat hotdog. She couldn’t even cut through the meat and was ice cold. Waiting took it back and took it off the bill. My eggs were fine but bacon and sausage overcooked. Coffee was like mud. Sorry H&K. Change your name.

Not the H&K of old. Food was so bad. Ordered a waffle with bananas foster. It was drenched in a sweet soggy sauce with no bananas. I couldn’t eat it. Told the waitress who was very nice and asked if I wanted to order something else. I did order the Portuguese egg sandwich which had 1 egg, cheese and supposedly linguisa on a bolo. The egg was burnt. The cheese not even close to being melted and the linguisa looked like a disgusting fat hotdog. I went to cut the meat and couldn’t because it was so tough and actually still FROZEN!! The eggs of my husbands breakfast were cooked correctly but the sausage and bacon were overcooked and hard. We were unaware that the H&K was bought out and had a new owner. The place itself was very run down. The only good thing was the professionalism of the waitress. She kindly took my breakfast off the bill. She should go work at a better quality restaurant. We won’t ever go back.
