I had the pho special at Pho Hoan Pasteur in west Edmonton recently. It was hearty and reminded me of the kind of pho that was easy to find in Edmonton decades ago (before being overtaken by newer spots). That throwback feeling was reinforced by the incense at the front door and the older crowd dining there. A surprising highlight was the tea (barley? rice?). Overall, it’s a place I’d go for good-value pho or nostalgia, and I’d give it 8.3/10.

The restaurant was a fair size and clean, the server’s were roving no longer were we sitting down someone was giving us menus, the order was placed and it wasn’t long we had our food. The server was by to as if we needed anything.the food wasn’t of value but good I’ve had better and worst the noodle was cooked good the soup broth was tasty but missing somthing(iam a flavor wort).tripe was a little chewy tendon needed a bit more cook time, the veg rolls were of the smaller size and the wrapper was very chewy, not of bad flavor shrimp was cooked and ok the peanut sauce was fine a little thicker me would of been better or a few more crushed peanuts with a pinch of salt, other than that I would try another dish another time, enjoy!

Well, this is a chain restaurant now… But the one I’m used to is the one in Millwoods. I guess my expectations are too high because Millwoods location is the best bar-none….. This west location was overly eager to take your order… With 3 waiters at your table.. Upon ordering, the portions were skimpy, the pho soup came out not as hot as I’m used too.. It cooled down quickly, the meat in pho was soggy… Skimpy on the bean sprouts and dipping sauces… The 2nd order was the 5-color virmichelli dish with shrimp…. Let’s clarify that… (one tiny piece of shrimp) loaded with rice to plump up the dish.. The Vietnamese iced coffee: for $5.50..come on, your paying for ice and like a shot glass of coffee over ice… What a rip off… Overall, not a good experience. The service was attentive cool.. But what’s going on in the kitchen or are the owners here super cheap and like to rip off its customers. Too bad I had to write this review but constructive criticism goes a long way otherwise nothing changes

This was my first time here and I was not disappointed. I had the Pho with brisket and it was quite tasty. The large bowl was filling. The Onion Cakes were as good as I have had.
The service was pretty fast, despite the restaurant being full.
I wouid go back for sure.

If I could give 0 stars I would. First of all, to see the amount of veggies you get for almost $4 was an absolute joke. I can buy a whole BAG for that. Also super soggy before I could even put in the soup. It was also $3.50 for extra large soup size but it was regular size as well which is a scam. How is this quality allowed when someone spends almost $30 on soup.

I came to Pho Huan Pasteur and tried their Bún bò Huế, and it was absolutely delicious! The broth was rich, flavorful, and had the perfect balance of spice and depth. The beef was tender and full of flavor. It tasted authentic and comforting.
I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes, but the Bún bò Huế alone is reason enough to visit. Highly recommend!

I got recommendations from my Vietnamese friend about this restaurant. So, I came to try it by myself and I love it!
I ordered a house special pho and I love the umami of the soup. Reasonable price around $16 each. Recommend
