My wife (who is Thai) and I were very impressed with Boba Tea Eatery. The owner was genuinely friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. I ordered the shrimp Pad Thai, and she had the Original Ginger Garlic Rice (also known as Khao Man Gai, pronounced cow-mun-guy). We also tried the Classic Milk Tea, ordered unsweetened.
Everything we had was excellent – the flavors were spot-on and tasted completely authentic. We’re genuinely happy to have real Thai food in the Altoona area, and Boba Tea Eatery adds a great option for anyone looking to try something beyond the usual local fare. Highly recommended; definitely check it out when you get the chance.

Wife surprised me going to this restaurant and this was my first experience. The restaurant was well decorated and had a very cozy atmosphere with a small lounge area. First off, the staff was very welcoming and willing to answer any questions about the menu. For beverages they have a selection of hot teas and a wide variety of milk bubble tea. I had the coconut milk tea and it was smooth, creamy, and well sweetened. Definitely one of the best coconut milk teas I have had in a while. Their menus specializes in Thai cuisine with a range of simple comfort foods to more complex dishes and appetizers. Many of their appetizers have beautiful presentation as well. To start we had the fried dumplings which could be best described as fish dumplings with a fried wonton wrapper. With it was a sweet soy-based dipping sauce. (I did not ask about the type of fish but assume it is a mild white fish). For the main course I settled on the fried chicken pad Thai with stir fried rice noodles. For those who prefer a sweeter pad thai this is the one for you. ♥️ It was served with a side of crushed peanuts and chili flakes to be sprinkled on top to your preference. The chicken was well seasoned, well cooked and juicy, and the batter was deliciously crunchy. This place is not only a good place for those who love bubble tea but also a place to get great Thai food as well. I look forward to going back and trying more of their appetizers!

I’m in town just for one day and randomly came in for some Boba tea, ended up ordering food as well because it looked good. So glad we did !! Honestly one of the best Pad Thai dishes I’ve ever had. The noodles were amazing and had so much flavor. My daughter had the Thai Fried rice and said it was the best she’s ever had as well! Service was also great they were so friendly. Highly recommend.
** update** I’ve been home for a week and still dream about this Pad Thai dish considering if a six hour drive is really that bad LOL**

I was so excited when BobaTea came to Duncansville. No more driving 45 minutes for good milk tea at their Altoona location.
This location is stunning. They did such a fantastic job on the interior.
I tried their tiramisu coffee and added tapioca pearls. It was fantastic – not too sweet and the perfect “pick me up”.
I was also SO excited to try their thai food as it’s one of my favorite cuisines. I do have to say I was a little disappointed. I got Tom Yum Noodle Soup with steamed chicken, but it was missing so many of the ingredients and veggies it listed. The only veggie in my bowl was bok choy. It wasn’t spicy, only sour. It also had peanuts, which wasn’t listed as an ingredient. It was during their first week of opening, so it could’ve been due to that. I would like to give their food another try in the future.

I ordered Tom Yum soup with chicken and steamed dumplings. The steamed chicken in the Tom Yum soup wasn’t that great. It was steamed, I suspect, without any seasoning at all, and it tasted as you might think plain steamed chicken would taste. And that came through even in the broth. The broth was very good, but I was disappointed that the soup only had a little bit of bok choy and no other vegetables. The steamed dumplings were delicious. I received very friendly service. This restaurant has a nice bright clean atmosphere. I got my food to go, but I would’ve happily sat and dined-in if I had the time. There are several things that are unavailable that I’d be interested in ordering… the super clean salads sounded interesting.

My experience here was top tier. Didn’t have to wait too long for our delicious drinks. I got the mango tea with mango jellies and passionfruit popping pearls and it is utterly delicious. The mango jellies are shaped as stars and they’re not too hard. The employee who was working there has the nicest personality and was so sweet! 10/10 place. Hidden gem here!

Really enjoyed everything I got there. The reviews are right, the chicken taste bland by itself but when I mixed in the sauce they gave it was delicious. I didnt know I got soup along with it so that was wonderful! Boba was good as well, will be returning to try more. It’s so close to me too which is wonderful ❤️
