Galen’s Restaurant is a local American Southern restaurant located in New Hope, Alabama since 2012. We offer a variety of your favorite smoked dishes, such as barbecue pork, smoked chicken, rib eyes, prime rib, hamburger steaks, catfish fillets, shrimp, chicken, pot roast, and much more. All of our main dishes are served all day, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner specials. We also do catering and take-outs for special events!

If you love a mom-n-pop diner that has a really good menu including different “meat & 3” options daily AND lets you substitute one of your veggies for a homemade dessert, Galen’s is THE place. Their breakfast is excellent as is their grilled shrimp salad and grilled shrimp plate.

I ordered the Cajun Turkey Club with a side of onion rings. My wife had the chicken salad sandwich. Our server had energy and was taking any questions asked…she then suggested to get the honey mustard sauce to dip my club, good choice. This was our first time there..we will return. Our server also suggested we return for breakfast, which we will. Thank you for the great experience!!! Worth the trip from anywhere.

We as an organization have always used Galens to eat at, order pick up from, and buy gift cards from to give to our supporters. I’ve never had a complaint accept this time. We called in a pickup order for breakfast for our charities volunteers who work extremely hard and used the menu off of Facebook like we always do. The total came to around $20. When we picked up the order it was literally double that attends $40. Money we would not have spent if we had known the prices had went up that much. The money to support our volunteers does not come from grants as we are a small organization. I called to let them know the prices said something different online and the lady was extremely rude telling me that the venues changed several weeks ago and prices went up. When I asked her to please change the venues on her page she said there is nothing she can do. That is false advertisement and very much illegal. I feel like we were just taken advantage of and trust was broken by a restaurant I thought I would never have these types of problems with. We will not be going back. Plus the eggs were dry, and bacon was burnt so black we couldn’t eat it. Very disappointed we lost $40

Good home style cooking and menu selection. All of the staff were super friendly and everything is priced well. The food arrived quickly and hot. The cream style corn was awesome. The atmosphere and fixtures are dated but the restaurant was clean.
