This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a Costa Vida. When we walked in, the staff were just hanging out at the tables, socializing, and clearly in no rush to help anyone. Despite being first in line, we waited 10 minutes before they even started preparing food to take our order with a ton of unnecessary attitude.
The portions have gotten noticeably smaller, and the salad greens looked old—some even rotting. The tortillas weren’t made yet, and the beans were completely out.
Staff attitude was absolutely unacceptable. Vero, in particular, spoke with an unnecessary amount of attitude, and another young woman without a name tag was outright rude and loud. They were speaking to us like prison wardens—loud, aggressive, and condescending. We weren’t just treated like an inconvenience—we were treated like enemies.
There is clearly a toxic culture or a serious management issue at this location. This wasn’t a case of understaffing or a busy rush—it was laziness, hostility, and complete disregard for customer service.
Way overstaffed. Walked in at dinner time, no other customers. Should’ve took that as a hint to leave. 6 employees behind the counter and still waiting for tortillas to be made when we got up to the counter to order. The two middle age Mexican women were staring and laughing the whole way from the door to the counter. I ordered a small sweet pork salad and got the saddest pinch of pork. When I asked for a little more, I was told it would be $4.99. What!? At least put the right amount in the first place. She then told me “it’s 4 oz” and I wish I would’ve told her to with it because NO WAY was that even 4oz. Then, I asked for the bigger cup of ranch and was told that was an extra $0.45. Oh. My. God. The whole time the staff are just had attitudes and didn’t want to even be there I’m sure. Maybe… if you can learn to handle the 2 customers per 20+ min with half the staff, you wouldn’t have to take the budget cuts out on the portion sizes. Get rid of the Mexican woman. There’s several other reviews about them. They are HORRIBLE and ruining your business.
A couple of years ago, I worked for Costa Vida as a manager myself, and it is truly disappointing to see how much the guest experience and flexibility have declined. Now I work as a truck driver and I’ve tried Costa Vida in multiple locations across the U.S. I have no issue paying extra when I request modifications, but being forced to pay for two full plates just because I asked for cheese melted on my tortilla feels excessive and unfair. I truly hope this location reevaluates how simple requests are handled and prioritizes guest experience the way Costa Vida used to.
The pinto beans on my burrito were so under cooked that they were crunchy. I thought we’ll day after Xmas, maybe not reg staff, don’t know how to cook the beans or just out of the can and came that way. Ordered same thing today 12/30
same crunchy pinto beans. Both times very little sweet pork on the burrito. Won’t be back. Will take my money elsewhere.
