The chicken tenders and Mac and cheese were good. The mashed potatoes and gravy is decent. The service at this establishment was subpar though. I reported one of the fountain drinks not mixing correctly, I asked them if I get some from the behind the counter served, was informed they were on same line so both lines would not be mixing right. It turned out the water dispenser was not working correctly. Then the ice cream dispenser was not working either it seems. I thought this was Golden Chick not McDonald’s…

Just wrapped up the most relaxing quinceañera photo session ever at Villa Las Palmas nearby, and as always when I’m in San Juan, I made a beeline straight to Golden Chick—because this is the only one in the Valley close to me (I’m from San Benito)!
Let me tell you… WOW. I devoured every single piece of that fried chicken like it was my first time eating in weeks. I didn’t even know I could eat that much fried chicken until I came back to Golden Chick! It’s crispy, juicy, flavorful—and not just salty like other places. This chicken has soul, it has flavor, it has that golden magic that makes you go, “Mmm!” with every bite.
Hands down, better than Church’s. No contest.
And the employees? Super friendly! I walked in around 7 p.m., and they greeted me like I was family. You could tell they love what they do and take pride in their service. It made the whole experience even better.
If you’re in San Juan, don’t miss this place. Trust me—whether you’re local or just passing through, Golden Chick is the golden ticket.

I recently visited Golden Chick in San Juan, Texas, and I was thoroughly impressed! The restaurant was spotless, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff, particularly the manager Brenda, were friendly and attentive. However, one team member truly stood out – Angel at the ordering counter. He handled my complicated order with a smile and made the process seamless. His exceptional service and friendly demeanor truly made my experience. Golden Chick deserves 5 stars, and Angel absolutely deserves a raise!

We have been coming here for years. But last night (not been back for 1 yr) throgjt the drive thru, was missing all my sides when I got home. Called them up, and they took care of me, went to pick up the sides and got a few pcs of chicken for the inconvenience. Was told it would take 15 minutes for wings, I told them….. I’ll wait. 15 minutes turned to 25 minutes!!!! I asked for “inconvenience” food, the basically said very nicely…. HELL NO!!!! Thank GOD they still messed up my order, and STILL got my INCONVENIENCE food!!! Lol.

I love their spicy chicken tenders and yeast rolls however this is the second time I ask for 16 piece tender family meal and I get my order wrong. Employee will always ask you if you want original or spicy tenders I have a 5 yr old so therefore I always ask for 4 tenders original and the rest spicy but they never give me the order that way. I always end up with half original half spicy. ♀️Why do they ask me then do it whatever way is easier for them.

Not sure if it’s only this location, or the shrinkflation just got worse, but the fish pieces were really small. Also smaller was the garden salad and even the side of fries seems to be smaller.
Plus, the place was really dirty. First and last time in this Bronze Chick

I absolutely LOVE the roasted chicken! I always buy the FAMILY PACK that includes 8 pieces of chicken and 2 sides. You can choose to mix it with fried chicken (I never do).
The roasted chicken tastes amazing, as well as the french fries. The macaroni and cheese is good, too.
