First of all the bathroom was locked and I had to ask someone to open it. No one was up front. Another costume had to flag them down from the back. He asked for sauce and they responded that it cost extra, which is ridiculous. When they finally opened the bathroom, the toilet was a mess. The seat was covered in pee! I know that’s not their fault, but it is their responsibility to make sure the bathroom is clean. Later, I asked for a refill because they didn’t have a fountain out in the dining room, to which the lady behind the counter (who I had to stop from going to the back when she finished with the costumer in line ahead of me) responded with a very serious and somewhat annoyed face, “We don’t do refills.” I laughed, said “Ok.” and left. I’m not from around here, but back home we have a McDonald’s with no fountain in the dining room and my friends and I always prefer to go 15 minutes out of our way to go to another McDonald’s than go there. But, at least they have free refills. The fries were also disappointing. Not enough salt and one member of our party said her’s seemed undercooked. Anyway, I would just like the management as well as the staff to take all of these things into consideration and maybe make a few changes. I think they’d be surprised by the change in atmosphere as well as the increase in profit.

Fast food? More like ‘No Food’ and ‘Slow Service’.”
I don’t know why I thought Hilo would be any better than the rest of the tour. This place is supposedly open 24 hours, but good luck getting anyone to acknowledge you if you show up after sunset. I sat in the drive-thru forever while the staff seemingly held a private convention inside.
When I finally got my food, the “World Famous Fries” were cold, limp, andtasted like they’d been sitting out since the last volcanic eruption. The burger was slapped together with such little care that half the pickles were on the outside of the bun. And don’t even get me started on the “horrible videos” and digital displays—they’re glitchy, unhelpful, and just add to the general sense of chaos. It’s the only option around for a quick bite, and they clearlyknow it because the effort level is at an absolute zero.

It’s McDonald’s, so the reasons are in comparison to other McDonald’s I’ve been to. Fast, friendly service and the order was completely correct. Basic stuff, but appreciated nonetheless!

What we really want from a fast food breakfast is warm all the way through and not super oily. The McDonald’s met both the requirements

Went to order the local breakfast deluxe and the place didn’t have rice. Turns out, they ran out of rice, while selling multiple orders to multiple people, and filled up all their waiting stalls. So, while I’m stuck at the drive thru pick up window(the last window), they asked me if I wanted to substitute rice for hashbrowns saying it’d take 10mins. I asked for rice since I didn’t mind waiting. They go back to the manager and responded by telling me that it’d take a really long time. So I was resigned to taking the hashbrowns and walked away with a few pieces of Portuguese sausage and a slab of egg. I don’t understand why they allowed me order the item knowing they couldn’t make it. If they told me from the start, I would have been able to order something else. I also don’t understand why they even asked if I wanted to sub the rice for hashbrowns cause I didn’t really have a choice in the matter. The only thing they wanted to do was get me out of the drive-thru cause they filled all their waiting stalls. Customer satisfaction is their last priority.
This location used to serve the local breakfast deluxe on their all day breakfast menu but now it struggles to serve the item during their breakfast period. It’s a good thing that I also ordered an egg mcmuffin to fill me up, but I had to assemble the sandwich myself as the cook didn’t even bother to stack it.
I used to visit this location 4-5 times a week, but the quality of service at this location has gone down significantly over the last 3 years and costs the same amount as any other restaurant in the area. Don’t be like me and spend your money on something more worth the value. I would recommend visiting the 711 right up the road, or the taco bell right around the corner that easily outperforms this location in every measure.

I’m going to give a good rating for how convenient their online pickup system is. It took about seven minutes of sitting in the parking lot, rather than having to deal with drive thru. Food was hot when it came out. As for the food, the apple pie was awesome. The big mac and buttermilk chicken sandwich were both pretty dry and disappointing. Where was the beef indeed? Anyway we’ll be covering this on a future Big Island, Big Eats podcast, on a Fast Food, Slow segment.

They messed my order, did not add cheese to the sandwich. When I called them up, they said that I can walk to the store and tell that that I have credit for the cheese and would get added in my next order instead of refunding or sending me a credit to my email. I am not from here and not sure how this works, I am sure there would be another person at the store even if I decide to drop in again.

Great for breakfast. Open 24 hours. Reasonable pricing. Restaurant is clean and drivers are attentive and friendly. Only drawback here is the place attracts the homeless. Not all are bad but there are some very loud people at times that could disrupt your visit. Staff is attentive with them

I order the Chrispy Chicken sandwich. This is what I received. Burnt buns, ultra Chrispy Chicken as hard as rocks and no sauce. To top it off I presented my concerns on 7.28.2022 at 10:20 am to the manager and she stated. That’s the way this sandwich comes. I said I’ll take my business to someplace else. She said okay, thank you.

Never a fan of MCD who don’t have drink stations for the consumer to fill their own drink. I suspect because of the homeless population, this is why they do it this way.
