Venerable steakhouse in a quaint, Colonial-era setting that’s known for its huge portions.

We came here for Valentine’s Day and overall had a really nice experience. The atmosphere was warm and romantic — dim lighting, white tablecloths, and a cozy, classic steakhouse vibe that felt perfect for the occasion.
The food was very good. The filet mignon was cooked beautifully — tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. The onion rings were crispy and not greasy, and the baked potato was fluffy and comforting. The chicken parmesan was also solid, covered in plenty of melted cheese and rich marinara, and the side of pasta was simple but satisfying. Even the creamed peas were surprisingly tasty. Portions were generous across the board.
Service was attentive and professional, and everything came out hot and fresh.
That said, it was very expensive — especially for Valentine’s Day. While we expected holiday pricing, the final bill definitely felt steep for what we ordered. The quality was good, but you’re absolutely paying a premium for the occasion and the steakhouse experience.
Overall: great food, great ambiance, but be prepared for a hefty Valentine’s Day bill.

The place was a very nice setup as far as waiting. Staff was attentive and worked as a team which makes the experience that much better. The waitress started out saying they serve big portions which brought joy to me. The crab soup was really good with nice chunks of crab. The Caesar salad was ridiculously good and I want more. The prime win was delicious and cooked perfect and huge as well as the lobster tails was fresh and juicy. Food was so good and service to boot. Will be going back soon to try more of their menu.

Very disappointed with time spent for a special Valentines dinner after many years there. Decor is the same, no fresh updates were noticeable. Parking lot is still unpaved. Steps to the front door in disarray. Tables in our room were all shaky. Had to ask our busboy to level with a menu. The large group seated beside us had to be moved for the same reason, then another couple seated beside us had to be moved over one table as well. That’s three tables in the same room. Our waitress was cordial and friendly at the onset, took our order, delivered it, then disappeared for the remainder of our meal. Never came back to ask if we were enjoying our meal, nor to ask for anything additional. She was busy with the 8 top they had to move and we became inconsequential. We were served coffee by a different waitress and them had to request our check. That was when our original server made an appearance. We both ordered the famous prime rib and it was plate size but there was no taste to it. The natural juices didn’t even enhance so I questioned the time the chef might have prepared it. The mushrooms we added were plopped down full size in a carafe dish and were huge!, so we had to slice and that wasn’t aesthetically pleasing. The prime rib was at leat 2 1/2 inches thick and though my husband welcomed the thickness I did not. Was like carving a roast, not cutting a tender piece of meat. The prime I remember there could almost be cut with a fork.

First time there last night for my twins birthday. Made reservation and was seated right away. The food was amazing. I enjoyed my crab legs appetizer and twin lobster tails. My kids had the fillet and large lobster tail and loved it. Michelle, our server, was so nice and welcoming and gave us excellent service. Brady, the busser, was so friendly and attentive. The great food and great service made it such a nice birthday dinner and dining experience. I can’t wait to return.

The food was fantastic and the heapings were plentiful. Next time I’ll get the Jr size primerib, the regular size was huge! Stuffed mushrooms with crab and bernaise sauce was terrific.

Old School. The allure of seven stars lies in its prime rib, surf and turf, or large lobster tails. Once a hub for upscale dining, it has lost its charm. The interior needs updates, as the outdated carpet and decor don’t match the desired ambiance. Dishes like surf and turf are available for $50-$100, and it’s worth trying if you’re in the mood for prime rib, steak, lobster, or their specials.
This place could use some attention to reclaim its identity. With that aside, the staff is friendly and they’ll ensure that you enjoy your meal…give it a try if you’ve never been.

Over the past 20+ years, my family and I have consistently patronized Seven Stars Inn (30+ years in my parents case.) Based on the exceptional dining experiences my close and extended family has had over the past three weeks, we agree we will absolutely return in the future. The restaurant consistently serves generous portions, and the service is impeccable. (All the servers and wait staff are polite, knowledgeable and personable, but I Highly recommend Michelle Polak as your server!) In my opinion, your hard-earned money is well spent and worth your while at Seven Stars Inn.
Furthermore, I was recently made aware that after a year and a half absence, the long-time head chef is back in the kitchen at Seven Stars Inn! While the food was good in the intervening time, the 3 dinners I have this month (April 2025) were some of the best I have ever had at Seven Stars.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Seven Stars, a historic establishment that offers an unforgettable culinary experience. Whether you’re celebrating a milestone birthday, anniversary, annual holiday, or simply craving an exquisite fine-dining experience, Seven Stars is the perfect choice.

I would give Seven Stars zero or negative stars if I could. The last time I was there I wrote a very honest, but scathing review of our experience, and never posted it because I didn’t like the idea of being so negative towards a business, even if true and deserved. But in light of what’s recently been going on with the health code violations that led to a forced shutdown and the restaurant’s response, which included silence, deflection, zero acknowledgment of the publicly available facts, and lack of accountability, I’m now posting what I didn’t then. I still actually kind of feel bad for this review, as it’s my first negative one, but my past experience was so awful and the recent goings-on are so shockingly scary and ignorant that I have to share now. I also feel bad for the employees; management and owners should be ashamed. Read on for what I thought before this most recent debacle. Things are even worse now. It’s truly sad that a once beautiful, old, historic landmark was driven into the ground. Seven Stars, if you owned up to what happened and apologized to the public, you just might earn a second chance with some customers. The public deserves that much.
From a January 2024 visit:
Shocking. We hadn’t been to Seven Stars in a long time. The last time we were there the food was ok but our meals were SO heavy with gallons of hollandaise sauce. It just felt outdated. This most recent time, the food was inedible. My chicken parm had zero flavor and was possibly off. It might’ve been old, frozen, and recently rethawed. The pasta sauce tasted a bit bitter and was likely out of a can. My boyfriend’s seafood was rubbery, the scallops were brown (not hard seared), and the sauce tasted acrid. My friend’s seafood was under and over cooked (yes, you read that right, but not sure how it happened). Nearly raw shrimp, rubbery lobster, salty crab cake. Not to mention the prices were astronomical. $48 for chicken parm, $130 for the colossal lobster, $65 for filet. No wonder they don’t post their prices online. Our young server, however, was awesome and the only highlight of the night. I hope he’s succeeding elsewhere now.
Wheelchair accessibility = SAD. I was recovering from a broken ankle and was on a knee scooter. That experience had been so enlightening to me in a really horrible way.
Many public places fall terribly short. For example, at Seven Stars, the handicap parking space is out front but there are numerous steps up into the restaurant. Ok, no problem, it’s an old, historical building. But, the wheelchair accessible entrance is in the back so you have to navigate across a poorly lit, uneven gravel parking lot with potholes. Then you come to the back door but there is no doorknob and no way to get in. The area is poorly lit, next to the dumpster, and had a slop bucket sitting on the ground next to the door. My boyfriend had to leave me there to go through the front and then have someone open the back door for me. The woman asked why we didn’t ring the doorbell, but what was there was only a shell of what used to be a doorbell, as it had broken or been taken apart. Employees weren’t even aware of this. Not sure how older clientele with accessibility and mobility issues are able to handle these obstacles. It was disrespectful. Picture of the ADA entrance attached below (dumpster not pictured, but located directly off to the right).
Please do better!
