We’re not just a restaurant. . . We’re an institution. Pelican Alley was established in 1981, but the history of the building begins many years earlier. Built in the 1900s as a fish camp, it morphed into a local bar and boat rental, and then to the Admiral’s Wardroom. Through the years, it has become a favorite gathering spot for locals and a destination point for tourists. Our clientele has included the famous and the infamous. Local (and not so local) artists, writers and actors have been known to drop by to enjoy the food and the ambiance. Several ghost hunters have investigated our hauntings.
Light-filled spot on the water, doling out a mix of seafood favorites in casual environs.

The food was delicious, and the waitresses were not only incredibly patient and friendly, but they also performed a stunningly smooth dance on stage. Their versatility was truly admirable.
Although it was a winter night, the atmosphere was lively, and everyone danced to the beat of the music. We had a wonderful and happy time.
I got the deep fried grouper and DANG . A “must experience” spot with tons of parking and indoor or patio on the water dining as well. See the pelicans right there! So cool . This place won’t disappoint. Yummy food and great views of the birds. The lady who served us was so nice and told us of many daily special options for fish caught that morning. What ?! Give the pics and videos a look and get to this location. Bring the kiddies. ✌️
Very cool place – will be back for sure.
Now, on to the food, drinks, and service.
The drinks were outstanding. I usually get a draft beer because you just never know if they prepare drinks right. We’ll, next time, I will try one of the amazing drinks that our friends had.
Do you skip appetizers? Well, don’t!
If you’re a fan of onion rings – these might be the best ones you’ll ever eat-true story. Sprinkled with parmesean, they are tender, flakey, and flavorful. The lobsterflakes, also amazing, as were the stuffed mushrooms.
Dinner was a “win” all the way around. It really seems like you can’t miss here. Every item the group got was fantastic.
But, save room for dessert! Crunchy peppermint topped a delicately flavored chocolate pie that arrived chilled to perfection. It was a cross between pie & ice cream if you ask me! Absolutely yummy.
Now, finally, the service. This restaurant is small enough so that you feel like you’re eating with family but just large enough to give you an escape into a great dinning experience. Water views from just about everywhere and warm/friendly servers made this night out perfect! I’d gladly come here once a week! Clean, crisp colors and lighting that asserts just enough to see everything yet not overpowering the intended situation. Everywhere you look you’ll see whimsical decorations that didn’t clutter up the place. Instead, it helped to define the charming atmosphere. To say that this is a seafood restaurant doesn’t do it justice. Pelican Alley Restaurant is positively a diamond. A readily accessible gem. I can’t wait to try the entire menu when we are back in town!
Many locals they make you feel welcome.Everybody very courteous and polite would definitely come back. And vacation here again and again
The best grouper dish ever!
