Reviews
When someone from the island cook, they cook with passion. When Haitian cook they cook with pride. Chef Creole lost there pride. I bought two plate of food from the Miami Garden location. I bought a traditional Haitian meal (Grio) and jerk wing non-traditional. The grio was swimming in some sort of liquid and the pork was tuff. I was unease with the liquid and so I did not continue to eat the fried pork.
Then I opened the jerk chicken plate and the look was a turn off. The taste was horrible. It did not look or taste like jerk. In the Haitian culture we create Epis to marinate our food. They took about four spoon of the epis, and some meat sauce drop it on some fried wings and call it jerk chicken. I took a bite of a wings to give it a try and I gagged. You could taste the Maggi they used in the epis and more. I trash everything because I did not want to go back and get attitudes on top of this horrible experience.
I feel let down that Chef Creole has lost the authenticity and pride in its cooking. For many, food is more than just a meal—it’s a connection to culture and heritage. When that connection is severed, it feel personal. Hopefully, the owner takes my review to heart and considers what made Chef Creole successful in the first place: quality, passion, and pride in serving authentic Haitian cuisine. I hope the Chef Creole take my feedback and make some changes.
