I ordered the plant-based shawarma plate to go. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The person at the register came across as quite cold and unfriendly, which set an unwelcoming tone.

The meal itself was very bland and largely one-dimensional in flavor. It was also quite heavy, consisting mostly of starches, and lacked fresh vegetables or other components to balance the dish. I arrived very hungry, but found it difficult to continue eating because there wasn’t anything to cut through the heaviness.

The restaurant seemed busy and clearly popular, so I imagine there may be better options on the menu. However, based on this experience, I unfortunately wasn’t able to finish the meal.

I got a falafel to eat in the restaurant for dinner and then got some gyros to bring home. I didn’t want lettuce or tomato. The falafel was excellent. Just the right texture and a great flavor. The gyro was above average. The meat was a little too salty for my personal preference but the portion size was great. I loved the welcoming sign inside! The bathroom was in a different building next door which was a bit unusual.

First visit here was today. I loved the Gyro. Tzatziki sauce was very good and the meat was delicious and they’re very generous with it. This could be a once a week staple for me. I’ll probably go for the plate lunch next to see what the salad is like

I can’t remember the last time I loved something so much. This pita wrap was insane. The flavors are so good. They know how to wrap this…I ordered takeout and ate it almost an hour later and it was completely intact. Didn’t make it to the other part of meal because this was so good. Standout meal

I should add…I’ve never been to Knoxville before. I stayed at a nearby hotel and looked for a place with great ratings.

The food is good. They seem to have made some changes to the chicken plate that didn’t do it any favors, but the falafel side order was amazing. The atmosphere honestly isn’t much different from a waffle house and there isn’t a bathroom to wash your hands in before eating. Which is a little gross because all the food is served with some kind of finger food.

I had much higher hopes for this visit, as this had been a place I’ve wanted to try. I’m not sure if the location we went to today was having an off day or if this is the norm. The downtown location has plenty of street parking and is within walking distance of most of the garages. We were greeted, but weren’t wowed by the customer service. The portion size is nice and the meal was worth the price. I had the chicken plate and liked the pita the most out of everything I ordered. My wife had the gyro plate and felt the same about liking the pita the most. This is a decent option if you’re in the area and wanting to try something different. Overall, I’m mixed on if I’d return or not.

Heard a lot about this place over the last few years and when I saw them across the street from the hotel, I knew it was time to give it a try. Let me tell you, this place lives up to the hype! It is a small, clean restaurant and the staff were all extremely friendly. I hap a spicy gyro and the falafel plate and they were both some of the best I have ever eaten. The falafel was incredible and had a fantastic texture. I have to say that I am tremendously impressed and can’t wait to have their food again.

4 adults ate for $50. Our gyro sandwiches were well stuffed and the baklava was delicious.

The picture on Google maps is not the current location. It is inside Marble City Market Food Mall. You need a code for the bathroom.

Yassin’s serves out large servings of incredibly tasty food. I especially loved their falafel which were flavorful and probably the largest side of falafels I’ve ever had. The chicken plate was also delicious, though nothing tasted spicy to me despite asking for the spicy sauce (not sure if they missed that or if it’s just really not hot). The baba ganoush was topped with the perfect amount of oil. Service was fast and friendly even with it being a bit of a lunch rush while I was there.

If I have any complaint, it’d just be they have some seating that’s right by where drinks/utensils are that feels a bit crowded. But they do offer a good amount of seating and it’s understandable things will get a bit crowded in a small restaurant.

This was our first visit. We’ve eaten many things at many places, but this was our first falafel.. It was delicious. We tried the sampler, a gyro, and then went back for more pitas and falafel. The prices were great and we were stuffed. Atmosphere was friendly, staff was friendly. Everything was great. We’ll definitely be back.
My husband said the baba ganoush was excellent and as good as the homemade a friend from South Africa made for him.
