At our Milledgeville, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I want to take a minute and give kudos to your store employee Elijah. For starters, while I waited for my food to be made, I watched him verbally greet and smile at every single customer that walked through the door. When I noticed that the tartar sauce dispenser was just about empty he immediately apologized and then came from behind the counter with a new full container. He then brought two large cups of the sauce directly to my table. While I was eating, I watched Elijah walked the dining room and speak with all the customers there to make sure everyone was happy with their orders. Elijah is a true asset to your company and I hope he gets the recognition he deserves for his outstanding customer service. I will definitely be going back. Great job Elijah!!

Let me start off by saying I am not a seafood person. My wife likes popcorn shrimp and most places only offer it on the kids menu. Capitan D’s offers it in a dinner portion. So I caved and obliged her craving.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that they now offer a hand breaded chicken finger. It was a thick strip of breast tenderloin meat cooked perfectly so that is was adequately cooked but still juicy in the middle. They have a dipping sauce that reminds me of a mild Cajun remoulade. “D’s sauce” I can imagine it would take good on most everything they sell. I found myself dipping in it almost exclusively next to honey mustard. I guess all the dinners come with hush puppies as a bread side because I got a few with my tenders. They offer Pepsi products and tea and a few desert treats.
The restaurant was super clean. For a predominantly fried food establishment I found everything to be free of the usual film of sticky oils. The staff was very friendly and genuinely seem to care about our experience. I would definitely come here again and may more often now that I know their standards are much higher than most options in Milledgeville. I had an excellent experience.

I normally go here when I’m craving their sweet tea & chicken tenders and it always comes out just as I ordered it. NORMALLY, the service is good & they actually listen to you when you order. However, today I went in and got a pretty simple order (my usual).
I ordered a FOUR PIECE chicken tender meal with green beans, a baked potato, and a breadstick. I also got a sweet tea & some cracklins. What I got back was disappointing to say the least.
I didn’t bother to check my box since it’s normally correct, so after I drove 45 minutes back home, I opened the box and found out they had given me TWO pieces of FISH, a handful of fries, & hushpuppies. The only thing they managed to get right was my sauces, the cracklins, & my drink.
I don’t think I’ll be coming back. It’s not worth going back to return it, as I don’t think the drive thru lady will listen long enough to understand what’s wrong.

Not sure what has happened to this captain Ds it used to be the best one in Ga. I was there yesterday and it was not good. The dining room was nasty . They had a cabinet under the drink machine that was torn up and partially pulled out that was absolutely nasty. There were maybe 4 tables that were clean enough to eat at. The dining room floor was dirty with trash everywhere on the floor. The hush puppies and the fish were under cooked. On the way out the trash receptacle was all so nasty and smelled very bad. I will not be going back to this location until I hear that it’s been cleaned up.

The gentleman taking my order was very rude. He told me to wipe my nose before ordering, which I thought was very uncalled for and unprofessional. My food sat on the counter for five minutes before someone gave it to me. The dining room was not clean. I did not enjoy the food; I ended up just throwing it away and going to a different restaurant.

The lady taking orders was not trained well on helping customers with food choices and communicating. Our order for 2 people was served in about 10 minutes. When food was served, the employees did ask if I would like any sauces but most of them seemed not to be happy working there. The dining room tables and floor apparently had not been cleaned in at least an hour and there were only 3 tables occupied by customers at the time I was there. Condiments counter was not clean, straws on a high shelf at back were hard to reach, and a couple of bowls of food toppings were not fresh or well-stocked. Second soda machine was out of order and had a sign on it saying so. After taking my order to a table, I returned to the counter and waited for about 30 seconds before one of five employees who were making loud small talk with each other asked what I needed. I asked for ketchup and they gave me a styrofoam cup with about an ounce of ketchup in it. I guess they had no ketchup packets. Restrooms were reasonably clean and supplied.

With drinks cost between $6-7 dollars each (with some readily available coupons, and was well prepared without “over breading”, or the greasy taste which is sometimes an issue with seafood. Restaurant has a larger than usual seating area and nicely decorated. Service was fast. Need a Berger break….give this restaurant a try.

I was in this area on business I actually live 2 hours away!! & I must say this was a TERRIBLE AWFUL experience… The employee was leaned over the counter helping an older lady do something on her phone (had nothing to do with business) she didn’t acknowledge me or the 3 other older people waiting behind me in line I probably stood up there 3 minutes before they walked in & in total the 3 of us stood up there almost 10 mins! She kept helping the lady work her phone. While other employees also just looked from the line & said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! Then I guess something clicked in her head and she called out to someone in the back and said… Whatever his name was there are customers @ the counter. He did apologize & took our orders but yet & still it was ALL unnecessary. If she felt she wasn’t supposed to help us she should have called him from the back IMMEDIATELY!!! The fish & bread was decent the fries were cold. Asked for a water cup was given 1 but I had to say something for him to say oh we don’t have kids for them… In which I had to end up buying a small cup for nearly $3.00 just for water unacceptable & this by far was as I said an AWFUL experience… & the young black girl with the short hair do & tats on her arm need to be taught what comes first CUSTOMERS or helping NOT A CUSTOMER work her phone. Restaurant could need a DEEP cleaning as well. If I could get my money back for would DEFINITELY want it back expeditiously

I was disappointed again , they were out of sweet tea, there was no silverware the drink station was nasty, Drink machine has been out of order.. the floors were dirty and spilled drinks on floor. Baked potato was cold and a day old I am sure. Garbage hadn’t been emptied. I hate to see this I am afraid it will be closing if something is done. Such a shame it was always a great place to get a seafood dinner. It was a Friday night and there wasn’t hardly anyone there.
