GO TO A DIFFERENT PLACE!! The only reason this isn’t a one star is the food is decent but you can tell they just let the food sit in the window too long and the beans are always cold (I reordered them twice because they were cold the first and second time)… This establishment is poorly ran point blank. The waitress is the most inattentive server I have ever had. Im not saying let her go but she’s actually one of the worst servers I’ve ever had. This place is not busy enough to be gone from the table for 20 minutes. It seems like their reputation was built on the past because I don’t know how the reviews aren’t lower. Also if you have to use the restroom make sure you go before or after because the ones here are gross.

I’ve eaten at the burro many times in the past, it has always been delicious until the new owners bought it and change to a vegan menu(terrible), why would anyone buy a thriving business that has been serving non-vegan meals, and change it? well, guess what? went back last month and the menu was not vegan, it was delicious again, service was great! Thank you for switching back and making this place what it used to be. I still can’t get over why a place would change to cater to about 1 percent of the population while totally ignoring the other 99 percent. Thank you for seeing the way and putting the good food back.

Really sad it’s no longer vegan, but we gave this place another shot. The service was great and staff was super friendly, but the food was lackluster. The biggest disappointment was their “omelette”. It was literally just a fried egg on top of what should’ve been inside the omelette. Unfortunately I don’t think we will be back.

This place not being plant based anymore was not a problem for me who I was with. I was sad though that I couldn’t try the kombucha my hotel’s outdated guide said it used to have. My eggs Benedict was very good, glad I got it. But the hash browns that came with it weren’t seasoned or really much cooked. It was loud in the restaurant, with a child kicking and screaming on the floor and a man sitting near us whose dog kept barking when whatever affected it kept happening. Service was sporadic, we weren’t given tableware until our food had already been served and we had to ask for it. Weren’t asked about refills or if we were okay until we had been eating for a while. It wasn’t horrible, but didn’t impress.

Had a great experience at this plant based restaurant! We were on our way to a completely different place when we noticed it was a totally vegan restaurant. We were so glad we stopped in and decided to eat here. The food was great and there was even some live music playing that evening. I recommend this place if you are in Leadville, and especially if you are plant based/vegan.

Knowing I was going to be in Leadville, I researched places with food I could eat, as I’m plant-based and gluten-free. I looked at the website and menu of Golden Burro and was very excited to try some of their food when I arrived in Leadville. I had the best meal of my LIFE! I ate at Golden Burro 3 times in a 24 hour period. The menu is extensive and packed with delicious foods! Golden Burro is a must for vegan visitors in the area!

My kids and i went for lunch. We ordered our food and the wait was over 45 mins. Everyone around us had to wait for 45 mins to a hour for their food even though the restaurant was less than half full. When my daughter‘s hamburger finally came out, it was burned to a crisp, looked like a hockey puck, and was rock solid. The buns were stale. My son’s burger was also well overdone. The hamburger buns were pitifully small. Overall the food was mediocre and bland. we will not be coming back. (written by my son)

We loved our time at the golden burro cafe! Our server was super friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere has an old-timer diner vibe that we found charming. We had the bandito burger and the ground beef tostadas – both were great! Portion size was solid for the price. We’ll be back!
