Google led me to this spot while I was cruising down I-95, and I’m genuinely glad it did. I went with the French Dip, and it exceeded expectations—tender, flavorful, and perfectly paired with a rich, savory au jus. This diner is a longtime icon. My daughter whom is now 44 used to come here when she was a little girl with her Grandpa. They certainly still maintain Good standards. They have great breakfast and lunch specials, homemade soup, phenomenal baked goods and good coffee. The service is always good and the owner is always welcoming and appreciates his customers. Whenever my husband has an appointment at the VA, that is our “GoTo”. Go on and give it a try.

My boyfriend and I decided to try this diner for date night I’ve heard so many great things about this place and was severely disappointed. The booth we were sat in was covered in crumbs; not the worst thing, but I ordered a cup of coffee the spoon I used to stir my coffee ended up having gunk on the back I found it after I took a sip with my spoon. The server was nice enough to get me a new coffee; the French onion soup was okay more croutons than soup. My boyfriend ordered the Philly cheese stake with curly fries and it was decent, the turkey club that I got the turkey was sour. I took an extra bit to make sure it wasn’t my taste buds and the turkey was definitely sour the owner that kept staring at us the entire time came over I explained to him the turkey was sour at first he tried to dismiss it and said other people ordered the turkey today and there were no complaints. I’m an easy person to please when it comes to going out to eat but this was just a train wreck the only good thing was the server that we had.

hii! went here last week on a bday getaway for my gf. she got the irish benedict and i got a sausage egg and cheese on a bagel. both came with home fries. my gf has a pretty big stomach but she wasnt able to finish the benedicts! they were pretty nicely sized and we wouldve taken it if we didnt plan on being out the whole day. my sandwich was good but they need to start making everything bagels! it would take their sammys to a higher level. that being said it was pretty good and the sausage had a nice snap to it. the only thing i didnt necessarily love was the home fries. they just werent seasoned enough and i like mine a lil crispy while these were plain and soft. besides that i would go back here again and our server was so friendly and kind ☺️

Staff made eatting there a pleasure. Drinks nd food came fast. The atmosphere was awsome. Very clean bathroom clean with pleasant sent. They serve alcoholic beverages which are yes, yes, yes made right. Food was impeccable. Plenty of parking. Reasonably priced for the amount of food and drinks we got. Definitely going again. I recommend trying anything on menu that appeals to you. You can’t go wrong.

Diners like this one are becoming a rarity. The service and hospitality akin to diners of old, welcoming , and well versed treated us like we’re regulars. The food came out super speedy and was amazed with the quality …..we ordered the a burger which was larger than expected ….fries came out Soo hot and well seasoned ….coleslaw was delicious and home made….also had a patty melt which was as classic as you can get it …..tasty. for the price , good food and service of old time diner experience come to duchess of West Haven !!!
