Frying Fish is a solid Chinese restaurant with good food overall, though it didn’t quite blow us away. The dishes we tried were enjoyable, but we felt the spiciness and overall flavor could have been pushed a bit more to really stand out. Overall, it was a pretty good experience, just not quite top-tier for us.

Pretty run of the mill Chinese joint though seems a bit more authentic than most. The seating is arranged primarily for groups of people, as there are large tables, then rectangle tables for 6, strangely, but I can tell they are just working with what space they have. I ordered the Kung pao chicken, no nuts, add bell peppers. It was pretty good, though a few pieces of chicken were just gristle or fat chunks. The pork gyoza was pretty good. They were busy so no critique on serving speed, and they all seemed quite polite. Food came out pretty quick. The flavor was good. I might come try it again if I’m in the area. Oh yeah, I tested the water here with a water tester, it was an amazingly low number! The lowest I’ve seen yet! (16/600ppm, very good water!)

All the dishes we ordered were so tasty! We had the eggplant, tofu, pork ribs, and fish with pickled vegetables. Every dish was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Great service and cozy atmosphere too. Definitely coming back!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Frying Fish. The staff were very friendly and genuinely cared about making sure everything was perfect.
The food was outstanding, every dish was fresh, full of flavor, and the amount was very generous. I especially loved Feiteng Swai Fillets and Fried Pork in Scoop, which was perfectly cooked and seasoned!
Service was prompt without feeling rushed, and the overall pacing of the meal was just right.
Frying fish gets everything right. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends and family!

We had a pleasant dining experience at Frying Fish Bellevue. The Guo Bao Rou was a standout — perfectly crispy with a delightful balance of sweet and tangy flavors. However, the spicy fish fillet in chili oil didn’t quite meet our expectations — the flavor lacked the depth we were hoping for. The cold liangpi was decent but nothing particularly memorable.
That said, the customer service was excellent, and the staff were attentive and friendly throughout our meal. The restaurant environment is clean, modern, and comfortable, making it a nice place to enjoy a meal.

Ordered Boiled Fish here and found a metal strip inside the dish. It took three servers before anyone came to address it, and the initial response was to say “I’ll change your plate” instead of apologizing or offering a proper solution. They then offered a free dessert, which we declined.
When we asked for either a discount or to waive the dish, the server tried to take the plate back to the kitchen right away, clearly not wanting us to take a photo. Only after we insisted did they reluctantly let us take one. Eventually, the dish was waived, and the server’s attitude improved afterwards.
The way this was handled was disappointing — the first reaction seemed more about hiding evidence than taking responsibility. Staff here need much better training in food safety and customer service.
