Last night, my husband and I, enjoyed an early dinner at Pelicans Seafood & Steaks. Our server, Abby was exceptional.
For starters, we had Sizzling Muscles, sautéed in white wine and garlic butter.
I ordered Piñon Crusted Halibut with Herb & Wild Rice Pilaf and a Caesar Salad.
My husband ordered a Surf-N-Turf, which he chose the Prime Rib and Shrimp Pelican, along with fries.
We each brought home half of our dinners, to enjoy today. That was a lot of food.
The Sizzling Muscles were a perfect blend of White wine and garlic, neither overpowering the other. The muscles were light, delicate but not overly intense. They were served with golden toasted baguettes, great for sopping up the sauce.
My Piñon crusted halibut was a tad bit overdone with an occasional dry spot, but not inedible. The chili sauce blended well with it. The Herb & Wild Rice Pilaf was my favorite. Chunks of zucchini and small shreds of carrot brighten this side, along with what seemed like Italian seasonings. I’d love this recipe to duplicate at home. The Caesar salad was lacking much taste, and was served with too much dressing. I prefer to have the dressing on the side to add to my liking.
My husband enjoyed his Surf-N-Turf. The Shrimp Pelican ( fried shrimp) had a delicious golden crust and tender juicy meat with that beautiful hint of ocean flavor. The Prime Rib was a perfect medium rare with a delectable dark, rich crust, au jus, and finely grated horseradish with the perfect heat. The fries were golden and crisp and salted to perfection.

We love eating here, the food never disappoints. The service is great, Carley is wonderful and very efficient. I recommend this place for special occasions or just when you want to eat a great meal. The deep fried mushrooms are to die for. Love this place.

I was excited to try this place for the first time as the food looked good & got good reviews, however, our experience was the opposite. To start, for a Tuesday we waited 20min to be seated. Then our service with Jacquelin felt very rushed. Had questions about the menu & she would right away cut me off before letting me finish. Slow down & listen to your customers so you don’t make so much mistakes! Had to ask for our drinks twice, then the soup we ordered was luke warm & slightly warmer the second time around. Anything extra ordered was forgotten about & $90 steak wasn’t cook as ordered. The manager really should’ve walk over to our table instead of having these kids deal with the several issues especially for what we paid! The ambience of a nice restaurant & going-out-to-eat is part of the whole experience. Management really needs to remember that if you want to have a prosperous lucrative business.

Best seafood in Albuquerque! My boyfriend and I are visiting from Texas. Everything was so fresh for being so far from the coast. Abundance of food came out for an excellent price. Our main course was delicious. My boyfriend got the special grouper and I got the surf and turf combo; they both came out with delicious sides: clam chowder and a salad. The house bread was so good we had to take a second one home. Our server Dasha( beautiful blonde Ukraine lady) was the best, top of the line service. She made the experience so fun. We would come back just to be served by her. If the restaurant gives promotions she deserves it. Nothing negative to say about this place besides the Rockefeller oysters could have used more seasoning or it was missing something. Besides that everything else came out to perfection.

Today was the first time me and my husband tried pelicans. It was amazing to say the least! From the time we walked in until the time we left. Andres was our server, he was friendly and not rushed (he was busy) but still took care of us and timed everything right so we could enjoy every bit. We definitely will be back!

I ordered fish and chips and these are the best fish and chips I’ve ever had anywhere. I love that I now have a go to for fish and chips. The crab cakes and clam chowder were also delicious.
Wait staff was great. The chefs were outstanding. Even the manager came by to check on us. She was genuine and very engaged.

We have been dining at Pelicans for decades with great satisfaction. Last night we took a party of 12 of our family. The food was of course was excellent. But the service, lead by Jackie was superb beyond words! Our favorite bartender came from behind the bar to shake our martinis. Everyone in our party raved about the service. Thank you Pelicans and thank you Jackie and Team. See you soon.

We had a 5:00 pm reservation for 11 people and were not seated until 5:40 pm. If a restaurant can’t honor a reservation, then don’t take one. We were told they were “waiting for a table to leave,” which makes no sense when you’ve reserved seating for a large party. They ultimately had the large party leave which I’m sure they too were not happy.
While we stood there waiting, multiple groups were seated.
The manager was inattentive and dismissive, offering no real explanation, apology, or effort to fix the situation. Once we were finally seated, the service was fine, but by then the experience was already ruined.
This was poorly managed, frustrating, and disrespectful of our time. A reservation should mean something. It did not here.

Pelicans is a good restaurant but honestly, the service tonight was amazing! We had Andres as our server and we will absolutely be back just to have him as our server. He is what all servers should strive to be, it’s really rare these days.

Came here last night on 08/02/2023 with my family to meet up with other people. The atmosphere is traditional yet relaxing. The staff was superb on their part making the night even better. Their food is very good & filling.
Personally, their Maryland Crab Cake was my favorite dish there. There was other dishes served but overall, it was quite the nice night experience. I recommend people who’s looking for a family outing and/or out with coworkers to come here. You won’t be disappointed.
