My group and I Had an amazing time at Society Lounge during the Xmas Bar Crawl this weekend! Huge thank you to TANYA for the VIP treatment. She provided absolutely exceptional service from the moment we walked in. Even though it was busy, she made sure we got signed up on the waiting list immediately and kept us updated. Beyond just being efficient, she made the experience so much fun. She was interactive, high-energy, and genuinely added to the festive vibe of our crawl. It’s rare to find that level of engagement and care. Customer service was 10/10. We will definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Cute speakeasy environment, complete with the “discrete” entrance and shtick. Bartenders know their stuff, so that speaks volumes. Great environment/atmosphere with couches and chairs and corner spots.

I’ve been to countless bars and met more than my fair share of bartenders, but Jordan is in a class of his own. Protect this man at all costs!
His artistry with cocktails is nothing short of remarkable. His conversations were tantalizing and his knowledge base was beyond norms.
Very smart man.
The menu itself is inventive, beautifully designed and fun, but what really impressed me was trusting Jordan’s craft beyond the pages.
After a few pleasantries and questions, I gave Jordan, “Dealers choice” and every drink he served there after was balanced, imaginative, and executed with precision.
When my SO didn’t know what she wanted to order, Jordan asked her to close her eyes, imagine a place she wanted to be transported to, anywhere on the planet.
She said the mountains!
and holy smokes!
This drink did not disappoint.
The presentation, The aromatics, The flower Garnish, The flavors…
The only word to describe the drinks and Jordan’s excellence is: Ethereal.
Finding it: We stumbled upon this speakeasy completely by accident, raincoats on, dripping wet after a concert, wandering down the street looking for some food, drinks or shenanigans.
From the outside, the entrance looked more like an antique shop or maybe even a quirky little museum dedicated to mid-century modern furniture. Only when we stepped inside, and down the steps, did we realize we’d discovered something far more magical.
A Broom Closet.
The atmosphere is intimate and warm, tucked away like a secret meant only for those curious enough to seek it out. Between the cozy basement setting, the subtle vintage charm, and Jordan’s unmatched hospitality, the entire experience felt like being let in on a little secret that you almost don’t want to share, because it’s just. that. good.
If you’re lucky enough to find it, don’t just stop in -settle in. Ask questions, try something new, allow yourself to vibe. This place isn’t a bar, it’s an experience.
PS: this is not a sports bar, so don’t be rude and ask for the Lions game or any sports to be put on the TV’s. It’s not the vibe or the crowd.

Stopped for a drink. Wow. Loved the atmosphere. Austin was a great bartender, personable and knowledgeable. There was a nice selection of alcohol, great specialty drinks, and the charm of an authentic hidden Speakeasy. Don’t miss this hidden gem.

Nice place. The staff is great. The drinks are pricey but fantastic. They said it would only be a 15 minute wait, but it ended up being 30-45 minutes, which only sucked because it was cold and windy and a homeless person hung out right outside the door kept being extra weird specifically to me for whatever reason? ♂️ But it’s not the venues fault, I just attract weirdos. And homeless folks need somewhere to hangout and ask for $, so NBD.

We loved the drinks, the service (Dee was awesome and I had the best aviation I’ve ever had by Chelsea!) and of course the decor was so great too! But please I’m begging you ….pay closer attention to your music . It was distractingly bad. It was like you all put on kidz bop Christmas music and never looked back that’s the only change I’d make otherwise a great experience!

So disappointing. They were full when we got there. Lady upstairs took our name and number. We wandered around other bars for an hour. Went back to see if we could get in and the lady was gone. We went down to the bar ourselves and found her standing there talking to employees and many empty tables. Communication would have been nice instead of blowing us off completely. Bartenders were arguing with eachother. It was not a good vibe. Tables weren’t being cleaned. Customers found their way downstairs and had to move glasses from dirty tables to have a table. There’s too many other great places. This place isn’t.

I visited Society Lounge mid December with two friends. We were greeted warmly, and the atmosphere was great! That is where the great experience ended. When the server presented us with the final tab we were given a lukewarm “Thank You”. We had a total of 5 drinks between the three of us. I handed the server my card. I was not given a customer copy of our tab. I did however receive a bank notification of $125.28 charged to my card that evening!
I notified Society Lounge that Sunday, less than 48 hours after the ridiculous charge to my account. To date I have contacted both Society Lounge and their parent company Hangry Brands via phone and email multiple times. I have not been given the courtesy of a response. Having worked in various restaurants over a two decade span in numerous positions, I understand the business. Employees get fired for altering credit card tips, some even have charges pressed. You have done zero!!!
At this point Society Lounge should be embarrassed. You have ignored a valid complaint. I want the receipt I requested and every penny charged to my account returned. This is total garbage!
