I want to love this place, however, my last two experiences were extremely saddening. The portions on the quesadilla and the burrito are very small. The burrito for the same price at taquerias arandinas, and 80% of the other Mexican food trucks in Austin are double the size. Will not be returning sadly as I cannot be sure that I can be full and satisfied at the end of my meal. I don’t like leaving reviews like this because I know this is a locally owned business, but I felt like I had to warn those looking for a Mexican food truck to leave them satisfied.

We order the amazonas burger and torta. Those 2 were were with lots of meat, soft bread and the Austin salsa was delicious. The torta and the hamburger were loaded with flavor. The gringas de al pastor were also loaded and delicious. The people are always nice and courteous. I would recommend this place as they have authentic Mexican food. Their prices are fair and the food delicious.

This place is delicious. We are visiting from Vancouver Canada and have come here every day of our trip… sometimes twice… yesterday 3 times. We’ve had other great food in Austin too (we have tried elsewhere!) but the Al Pastor (add pineapple!!) and the beef fajita tacos are undeniably the best. The staff is all so friendly and nice as well – I already miss this place! Plus the convenience store next door has any drink and sweet treat you could need!

Ok I’ve tried the chicken tacos and pastor tacos and bistec tacos but the best is lengua tacos. There $4.50 a taco is a bit high my opinion.

Best taco truck in town. Multiple locations down South Congress. Authentic food, always quality and delicious. They are almost always open, and I’ve been coming here for nearly 4 years.
The bistec and pastor tacos are the best thing on the menu. Try the horchata, and absolutely top off anything you eat with their Austin green salsa

They should just become a ghost kitchen because they prioritize online orders over people that are literally right in front of them. Also extremely overpriced for what you get. Can’t wait til the bubble bursts because these tacos are awful.

I’m not usually eating around this area, but these tacos are a great option, I’ve been there 3 times and they haven’t disappointed! Recommend the pastor tacos and campechanos!

Went here for breakfast tacos on a Sunday morning, $4 egg tacos, super super small, maybe half an egg in each taco. Worst taco I’ve ever had. DO NOT GO HERE.

A Taste of South Texas in Austin – Finally!
I’m originally from South Texas, and let me tell you finding authentic Mexican food that measures up to what I grew up with has been a struggle in Austin. Until now.
Tacos Las Amazonas is the real deal. This is the closest thing to the incredible Mexican food from back home that I’ve found in this city. I ordered pastor tacos and bistec tacos, and they were absolutely amazing. The pastor had that perfect balance of seasoning and char, while the bistec was tender and flavorful not the dried-out, over-seasoned stuff you get at a lot of places around here.
The tortillas were fresh, the meat was high quality, and everything tasted like it was made with actual care and authentic recipes. No Tex-Mex shortcuts or watered-down flavors trying to appeal to a broader audience. Just straight-up delicious, traditional Mexican food the way it’s supposed to be.
Hands down the best tacos in Austin. If you’re from the Valley or anywhere in South Texas and you’re craving a taste of home, this is your spot. And if you’ve never had real South Texas Mexican food. You’re in for a treat.
I’ll be back. Regularly.
