Today I ordered the Gyro pita and wow. I’ve had plenty of Gyro pitas as well as wraps before but none come close to L.Georges.I don’t know how they took the same ingredients and changed it for the better. The sauce on it was creamier and more well balanced than the others I have tried. Even the pita! The pita was soft but not mushy and somehow tasted better as well.
100% best Gyro pita hands down!

Excellent, classic Coney joint.
Prices have gone up, but still pretty fair for the size of the portions.
If you get there between 11am and 3pm, the lunch specials are the ticket.
Chicken Gumbo Soup – thick and spicy.
German Tomato Soup – like maybe a stuffed cabbage soup. Excellent!
French Onion Soup – salty and delicious.
Gyro – not as good as the “cut from the log” ones, but it’s the next best thing.
Big Breakfast – Bacon is always great, hotcakes are just right. They can make Over Hard eggs, and they are actually Over Hard.
Biscuits and Gravy – really filling, you might want the 1/2 order.
Coffee – pretty strong “diner coffee”, excellent.
2% surcharge on cards.
Highly Recommend

Thank you. That’s all I can say. Chili Cheese Fries, I asked for heavy Chili. Ohh Wee!!!, Did Pete meet my craving. On the other hand, The ham and cheese omelette was not ham and cheese, which is what I ordered. It had sausage bacon and ham. Cooked perfectly. Just wasn’t what was ordered. Although, still good. Mistakes happen.

The waitress went above and beyond to make me something they don’t have. Now this is great customer service. This is why this place is ranked great. Food is fast even the buss boy is smiling and not waisted to smile actual happy. I recommend this place to anyone .

L George’s is a comfortable place that’s a little out of my way but worth the trip for its classic all-American menu as well as ethnic favorites like gyros. The Greek omelet is loaded with juicy meat, veggies, and feta cheese, and comes with a tangy tzatziki sauce. It’s delicious, as are other breakfasts and salads I’ve had there. On my most recent visit, my server was Amber. She was very attentive, hustling between her tables, making sure coffee cups were full and everyone was happy. Her attitude was infectious and she is definitely an asset to L George’s.

So I’ve been here about 4 times. 2 times it was great but the other two there has been hair cooked inside my food. These are two separate occasions. When I don’t have hair in my food. It’s great! But this is pretty gross.

This was my favorite go-to restaurant when I lived in Garden City. Made a trip from Howell today to get some breakfast and it was just as good as I remembered.
I love the corned beef and hash browns and a half order of biscuits and gravy for the bf to go with his Paul Bunyan breakfast. Plenty for leftovers the next day. So glad some things stay the same. Until next time L. George’s! xo
