Mati’s is one of my favorite spots. I love fine dining and the quality, flavors, and atmosphere here is top tier.

The service is exceptional. They know just the right time to visit the table. Always professional, attentive, and helpful with recommendations.

Ive spent my birthday and valentines here. The location is in little Italy on Preston. Quick and easy to get to from the beach street public parking lot and is accessible.

The lighting, decor, and ambiance is comfy, cozy, and classy.

The food (will follow with pictures). The wagyu beef is enough for 2-3 people to share. Ypu order separate side dishes that also feeds 2-3 people. It was on par with the wagyu I ate at a Wolfgang Pucks Spago in Vegas. Its a must try.

The porterhouse steak is also exceptionally cooked and seasoned. This place knows how to cook meat. Mind you this was supposed to come qith a mushroom demi. It did not come with this as advertised. Mind you the flour of the steak didn’t need the extra sauce.

The seafood here is fresh. Ive done a few seafood towers here as well as their valentines seafood platter. Theyre properly cleaned, no grit in the oysters ever and the shrimp has that fresh crunch when you bite into it. The accompaniments are delicious as well.

We tried their famous brownie for the first time and it was enough for 4 people to eat. It was melt in your mouth, with bits of chocolate chips for some texture, and was supposed to be topped with Gelato but came with just regular vanilla ice cream. I was a bit disappointed but the strawberry marshmallow made up for it.

The owner is very friendly and engaging. It is nice to see an owner who cares about his patrons and will visit tables to check on service. That is a very nice touch.

I really dont have anything bad to say. If you want quality food for a reasonable price, this is your place. It is on the more expensive side but I have been served much less food for so much more money.

I will definitly recommend this place and we are looking forward to trying out his other restaurant Evoo soon. Ill post a review there as well.

Amazing! Went for the first time tonight and sat at the bar. The food was delicious. Steak was cooked to perfection, lobster was cooked to perfection, lamb was cooked to perfection. The drinks were great. Duncan was fantastic. We will definitely be back sooner than later.

First time at Mati tonight, and from the very first bite we already knew this was a place we’d be coming back to, and probably becoming regulars. We ordered the seafood tower, which gives you the best of both worlds: hot and cold. Lobster, calamari, fresh tuna, oysters, fish tacos, so much variety, and everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful. Honestly, every bite felt like a new experience, and it was 100% worth the price.

And the service? Absolutely phenomenal. The vibes were on point, the staff genuinely looked like they were enjoying themselves, and that energy really carried through the whole night. The attention to detail was exceptional. Overall, we loved everything and would definitely recommend this place. Total win.

I booked Mati over a month in advance as a surprise anniversary dinner, but the experience was far from the fine-dining standard we expected. Two nights before, they called after 5 PM to confirm—completely spoiling the surprise. When I called back, they said our Oval Room booking didn’t exist, even though I’d selected it online and confirmed earlier. After some confusion and waiting for “manager approval,” it was finally sorted out, but the process felt disorganized and unprofessional.

At dinner, the lobster tacos weren’t fresh and lacked any presentation—just four tacos on a rack. The burger was dry, the fries nearly burnt, and the steak plate was messy, with the meat placed directly on a potato. We also asked for bread and butter, assuming it was complimentary; instead, we were charged $16 for three small fingers of butter and a single toast—without any prior notice.

Our server, Decio, was genuinely kind and welcoming, and the complimentary sparkling wine and L’Arrivée bottle were excellent. Unfortunately, the Oval Room lacked ambiance—the door to the kitchen was open, the room felt empty, and no one was present when we left, which made the experience feel forgotten rather than private.

The chocolate tart dessert arrived frozen solid and nearly impossible to cut. Overall, for a $288 bill for two, the experience felt overrated and unrefined. Despite the kind service, we left disappointed and would not return.

We went for supper as part of a table of 9 people and the servers didn’t miss a beat. The drinks and food came out in a timely manner even though the restaurant was full. The decor was very modern and stylish. The food was good quality, but overpriced in my opinion. I was so disappointed in my plate that I have to take a point off. I was still hungry after. The quality and portion of sides could not justify the price. Everyone else in our party seemed happy with their food and experience.

We enjoyed a phenomenal dinner here to celebrate our anniversary. Arancini to start and tenderloin for our mains were cooked to perfection. A hand written card and complimentary chocolate torte for dessert were very thoughtful touches. Only downside was we could barely hear each other as the noise level in the restaurant was very high due to large parties. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

Visited Mati this past weekend for my birthday brunch and the experience was exceptional! Adding the personalized note was a sweet touch and they even offered me a complimentary fresh squeezed orange juice (which is quite good!)

Admittedly after placing our orders, the meals were taking quite some time to come, to which our server, Oly/Ollie was extremely apologetic. Unfortunately we also did ask for a round of devilled eggs but our server forgot to add it to the order, we decided to leave it out, especially since the initial order had already taken some time to come.

Side note – I ordered the Blackstone Bennie, which is essentially their pork belly eggs Benedict ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fast forward to after our meal, we wanted to try the French toast, and when we went to order, Oly did share that they were still intending to bring the devilled eggs out, on the house, and gave us the option to stick with the eggs or instead get the French toast, which was a sweet gesture.

All in all, in addition to Oly’s service, anyone we came into contact with was really nice and welcoming and the level of effort to rectify the order taking some time and being incomplete was greatly appreciated.

Would definitely recommend Mati and looking forward to visiting again for some of their other offerings. 🙂

Reservations set, 10:30 am, straight from my Roman Catholic mass. I came to Mati for brunch accompanied by my hunger and high expectations. Directed by the hostess, I sat at a window table for two, facing the bar. I was greeted by Duncan with morning cocktail and beer recommendations which was comical, yet thoughtful, as the servers are trained to upsell the higher yield for a restaurant. My immediate reaction to the menu was elation. Reasonably priced food, at a pre-fine dining brunch spot. My meal opened with a sip from a delicious brew, black and bitter. For a brief moment, my stomach growled as the deviled eggs arrived, the best I’ve ever had; bacon, jalapeño and yolk covered the roof of my mouth. My anticipation built as I finished my mini shareable. Then the steak and eggs arrived, decadent, juicy, lightly salted, the steak with a simple runny egg, sourdough slice and taters satiated my carnal hunger. Then a bowl of chocolate, pistachio and strawberry pistachio, completed my morning. Amazing.
I’m scoring Mati a 3 out of 5 because of my almost 1 hour wait to have a 20 second viewing of the Oval room and the private bar downstairs. I patiently waited to have a look, I followed up once, then I was taken there hastily. Seated at the bar from 12:15pm to 1pm, a test of patience that I overcame. The gracious hostess apologized and I expressed my understanding. Thank you for sparing me 20 seconds, I do like idea of the private dining experience.
Mati will see me again as the food spoke for itself.

I celebrated my birthday yesterday at mati. Two weeks before the event I was met with incredible customer service when it came to the reservation with the manager , Victoria that was a gem, so lovely .
The food was delicious and came on time , the hostess and waiters were all very nice and friendly. In all it was an amazing experience I fully recommend !

Mati went above and beyond for my birthday dinner. They set up my group in a nice big table by the window and had a birthday card set up for me as we arrived. The food was great and the service was what really stood out. My friend ordered the Wagyu burger and it took a long time for it to arrive but the server offered him some bread while he waited. We had no complaints and didn’t mind the wait. At the end, they comped his burger on the bill to make up for the wait and I think that was a really great gesture!
