Best sushi place in Columbia. It can be a bit pricey but def worth it. I recommend getting a roll of choosing and the bowl with rice and sashimi on top it’s the best bag for your buck while still delicious. (This feeds two people very well). Miso soup is also a great touch that brings the whole meal together. This is kind of a hidden menu item but for desert you HAVE to ask them for the tempura ice cream. It’s ice cream with a fried shell, however unlike the normal ice cream you’ll have only two flavors to choose from, vanilla or matcha.

Went to Sushi Sono for Valentines day and have gone there multiple times because of how great the food is. My personal favorite is the sake don which is raw salmon over a bed of sushi rice. They had so many pieces of salmon with a balanced amount of rice. Try their fried tempura for dessert you won’t regret it! Great place for date night or for a hangout with friends! Very clean and super friendly staff!

Amazing sashimi. The fish was very fresh, fatty, clean smell, and buttery. I will say it was pricy and small portions but very high quality and worth it if that’s what you enjoy. The other sushi rolls are all made on the spot and done professionally. Highly recommend, beautiful atmosphere and view.

A perfect date night spot by the lake in Columbia! We loved the unique chef rolls they offer. The menu also features a wide variety of entrees and appetizers that we’ll have to come back to try. This visit we had the Hurricane Roll and the Fourth of July Roll; both were delicious and filling, with fresh ingredients. The service was also excellent!

This place really does a good job of giving your that authentic Japanese restaurant feel, even the waitresses and sushi chefs wesr a nice uniform to match the atmosphere. The place is lovely and the setting near the water is beautiful.
The service is good and the staff is attentive. They know what their doing, so 5 stars on that. The food was wonderful! All the fish was fresh and had amazingly good texture.
I had the omakase sushi, and I can say they do a wonderful job of giving you a good portion of fish. It was a generous portion of fish. Thick slices on properly flavored sushi rice. The slice was much bigger than the rice, compared to other places that try to add more rice than fish. Its tough to go through all the details of flavors and taste. But if your a sushi fan, I highly recommend you try this place out, it’ll be worth it!

Oh my god! These were the best sushi I’ve had in the past 2 years hands down!
What I personally liked about this place is not only the taste, but how fresh everything was. Like, salmon sashimi just melted in my mouth.
The atmosphere is in a Japanese style: cute, quiet, clean and calm.
Coming back here for sure!!

Prices are reasonable! They have a wide array of sushi choices. The most stunning things about this place is it overlooks the water. I walked down and was surprised by the beautiful water! Also, the servers wear traditional garb which adds a special touch from any other sushi restaurant I have been to.

This is one of the only places that has been in business forever and has not sacrifice on the quality of their food to make an extra buck. The regular sashimi boat I received was premium, a couple notches up from Azumi(in Baltimore) and comparable to Toro in DC. The inside atmosphere is a little fancier at the city sushi restaurants metioned, this location was nice with a view overlooking the lake. The rolls were different from other restaurants and unique. My favorite was the Black Snapper which is the whole fish prepared sashimi and Nigiri style. Totally amazing!!! There are always 4-5 attentive friendly servers tending to your table. This place is definitely worthy of a sushi date night.

I have been here 3 times in 12 years as its not right around the corner. If I was I would visit more often. This is hands down one of my favorite sushi places. I love the staff, the decor, the menu and the food. Its also right on the lake so it has a great view. Some of their rolls are pricy but always fresh and sooo good. Their beef teriyaki is hands down one of my favorite steaks, and I am not a fan of red meat but I cannot turn it, down cooked to perfection every time. The tempura green tea ice cream is light and exactly what you want but the red bean is my go to.
