The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was warm and beautiful, and the food quality was outstanding. Everything was perfect — highly recommended! ✨
Grazie di cuore! Tutto era perfetto.
Now the negatives. When we arrived, we had to stand at the door and wait for our table. The bar was next to where we were standing and, as such, we had to witness a shouting match between the person behind the bar, and one of the senior members of the service team. This same senior member of the team then took out his anger on some cutlery that he threw at force into a drawer right next to where two women were sitting having their meal, causing them both to get a fright. He then started an argument with one of the younger servers who had clearly questioned his behaviour, and then gave a verbal volley to one of the young female servers who looked visibly shook afterwards.
This type of behaviour is simply unacceptable, whether it’s in front of customers as this was, or not. Simply put it’s bullying, and I feel sorry for all the younger servers in this restaurant having to put up with such a toxic working environment. The real shame in it is, all of the younger members of the service team we interacted with were excellent. Both friendly and professional, everything the senior member of the team who was kicking off was not.
On top of that, the restaurant was extremely warm, to the point sweat was dripping off us, and people at tables all around were fanning themselves with menus. I feel this is probably caused by the fact tables are packed together, not leaving much room between them.
The negatives are a real shame, as the food was very good. However, having witnessed this behaviour by one individual, I struggle to see why we would return when there are so many other very good Italian restaurants in the Glasgow area who knows how to behave both in front of customers, and towards their staff.
Ordered from the fixed price Lunch/Early Evening Menu, which for a fixed menu had a great choice.
We had a combination of 3 courses between us and everything was absolutely delicious. Again, for a fixed price menu the portions were very generous.
Thoroughly recommend and will definitely be back…
Pizza pepperoni was very dry especially the crusts, I’ve attempted to eat rocks on the beach as a child that were softer.
Could do with a dip with the crusts or maybe fill them with cheese and leave that as an option
Kind regards
Lewis
