First time trying Haitian food. My fiance and I saw this place on the way to Lake Maude and decided to stop. There are only a few parking spots out front and they were full so we had s good feeling. There’s a apartment complex right next door with plenty of parking. I cant remember the guy’s name who helped us out but I asked him what his favorite was and he said the Griyo (fried pork chunks) so that’s what we got. Picture is in the review and they have two sizes. We got the smallest one and it cost $15. You can get it with rice but we chose fried plaintains. The meat was tender and well seasoned. They serve it with spicy onionsz carrots and tomato on top and I could have eaten that by itself! The flavors came together so well and this is, hands down, one of the best dishes I have had since moving to Florida. Very nice people running the place and I cant wait to go back this weekend and try more things!

Delicious Haitian food! Priced reasonably. Good portions sizes. All 4 meals ordered came with rice and plantains. The atmosphere was clean, inviting with very friendly people. Highly recommended! We will definitely patronize again!

First time at Silou Restaurant and I was impressed! I got the fish in sauce with plantains, which was absolutely delicious. The pikliz, made with onions and peppers, had just the right amount of spice and really complemented the meal. I also tried the diri djon djon, which was flavorful and cooked perfectly. The dish came with fresh avocado, which was a great touch.
I was so hungry I didn’t get a chance to post a picture, but I definitely will next time. Everything was amazing, and I will definitely be back!

Who puts pig feet in legume. Never again. And the attitude at checkout is beyond me, you need customers we don’t need you. Plenty of better Haitian food restaurants around. This is not it.

I ate here for the second time Friday evening around 6:30 pm. What a big difference from my Sunday afternoon pickup. I got a chicken plate with black rice and a Turkey plate with black rice. There was absolutely no meat on the chicken, NONE, the rice was burnt in some areas. I paid $20. The Turkey smelled spoiled, and the rice was burnt in some areas. I paid $25. The vegetables were all fresh. So I will not eat here during the evening. I’ll stick to the afternoon around 2pm-3pm.

First, I’ve waited over an hour. Then when my food came, it was not the correct food. How do you get 3 plates wrong there was so much juice in the plate got home It was everywhere. The plantain was cold. Had to tell 4 different people our order just for it to it taste bland no flavor.
Just a little spice We’ll never eat there again.
Stay away.

I was excited to know there was an authentic restaurant in the area. Today I placed an order for myself and my co-working and we both were pleased. The food was hot, delicious, worth the cost, and well seasoned. Felt like my mother’s kitchen. I would definitely recommend having your lunch or dinner at Silou Restaurant.

I got the bouillon and the patè. I told him if the food is good I’ll come back. And it was! I didn’t go back yet but I will be going back. It’s a lil pricey but I think it’s kind of worth it based on what I’ve tried. I’ll be back this weekend. First Haitian food in winter haven I actually like
