Our family visits NI regularly and a meal at Percy French each holiday. Unfortunately in 2023 and 2024 we found the prices higher than we recalled and the food didn’t match the increase made. This year we just went for drinks. The service in the bar was very good, we were happy with our drinks, and it was so relaxing to just sit in the quiet and chat after a busy day.

Family meal, very attentive and pleasant staff. Really enjoyed all the meals, especially mussels and seabass. Prices as expected. Dining room was warm and cosy for such a cold night.

First time in the Percy French in 6 years and it’s still as good as it was. Our server Chrissy was very nice and couldn’t be more helpful.

We both opted for the fish and chips and weren’t disappointed. The batter was light and melts in your mouth, whilst the chips are well cooked and plentiful, no skimping here!

Would love to see the restaurant bring back the seafood chowder served in a bread bowl. It was a classic.

We haven’t been to the Percy French in years because it had gone down hill in service and food but thankfully we decided to try it this week and loved it. Very nicely decorated in beautiful old style attire. Service was good but sadly we waited for ever for our food, far too long for any restaurant which kind of put us off. Once we got our food it was good but the experience was kind of dampened by the wait. Over all 7/10 only because of the length of wait time.

Great food. Nice wine. Very reasonable prices. The Staff are very friendly and attentive. The Seafood Chowder 10 out of 10 and the scampi was amazing.

Disappointing experience all round. Service very slow with wait staff having to be reminded of things multiple times. Hostess was quite rude when asked about sauces available with the steak saying “it’s just peppered sauce as it says on the menu” in a very condescending tone. It does not say peppered sauce on the menu. Steak was also a bad cut and very fatty which was disappointing for £39. Also asked for the steak rare and it was much closer to well done. Old fashioned seemed to just be a cheap whiskey which had been watered down. Bill came to just over £200 which I personally think was quite overpriced for four people with one drink each and one person only having a starter and no main, especially considering the subpar quality of the food.

Quite disappointing. Food was nice albeit not a bit selection, but atmosphere and service were a lot to be desired.
Expensive for what we got – won’t be rushing back.

Decent casual bar fayre in spacious surroundings with a great view of the sea. Food – prawn cocktail was generous size, really nicely balanced flavours; fish and chips was a little light on the fish and the fries were a just a tad undercooked. Overall pretty good though.

I visited The Percy French pub/restaurant Tuesday 2.12.25. To say that I was disappointed would be an understatement. I started with a pint of Guinness that was awful. The waitress took our order for food and a jug of water, I had to ask three times for it. I could understand if they were busy but the place was empty. My sirloin stake tasted like it was cooked in burnt oil and my wife’s burger was not much better. The lack of attention shown by the waitress was as if we did not exist. I had to ask for my bill twice before I left my table and approached the bar to pay for it. No mention of ” was everything all right “? The waitress just took the payment and that was it. My opinion of the food, drink and personal service is not even worth one star. Terrible food, awful Guinness and one waitress has left me with a very bad taste in my mouth for the Percy French. Someone in authority needs to take a look at what is going on. Avoid at all costs.
