First time at Chicken Oil Co.The chicken fried chicken was excellent—crispy, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the meal. Fries were solid, and the chicken salad was huge (definitely come hungry for that one). I wish they gave you BBQ sauce in the table… but other than that, great. The atmosphere is great, laid-back, and welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive. Overall, a really good experience and worth coming back for!

Fast friendly service and great burgers. Tater tots and onion rings were delicious too.
Update: For those on low carb diets, the lettuce wrap burgers are very delicious at well.

I was very disappointed in the food. I was so excited to try it again since its reopening but the food is not the same smh. Cold, soft fries after we asked for crispy fries… no salt/bland. The burger was like a jr burger small & not bad but not worth the price when you can buy better food cheaper elsewhere. Shame my family & i will not return. Chicken strips were bad. I guess you just get 2 strips??? ♀️ My 9yr old son said fast food is better, sadly i agree. Pics & vids.

Coming in, the pool table sat amongst beautiful wood floors and walls. I never saw this place before, but it was perfect. Nostalgia gleaned in the quietest way.
Ordered:
1. Patty Melt with fries
2. 1/4 lb cheeseburger with fries
3. Shrimp basket with fries
4. Hamburger Steak with sweet potato fries
Delicious! Happy to see the place up and running.

used to go here as a kid and would love the hamburger baskets did they served? Visited for the first time in 20 years and was very disappointed. Paid 799+ tax for a burger that was the size of a kids burger.
Over priced, maybe a good place to drink!!! But not the place to get a bang for your buck!! Not a cheap person, but not paying for noting that’s not worth it… pictures to prove it. Look for your self baby burger for eight dollars plus you have to pay three dollars for the fries

Walking through the doors of Chicken Oil is like stepping straight back into Aggieland history—and I am here for it! From the moment you see the vintage décor and gorgeous animal mounts to the walls and tables etched with decades of names and memories, it’s like every inch tells a story. You can literally feel the history in the air (and smell the burgers on the grill—perfection!).
The food? Absolutely outstanding—every bite tastes like tradition. And the staff? 100% pure gold—smiles, laughs, and that genuine Texas hospitality that makes you feel like family the second you walk in. ❤️
Chicken Oil isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a living, breathing piece of Bryan-College Station history, and I’m so grateful it’s back!

Ok ladies and Gents this one is going to hurt. But as you know i always tell it like we eat it. I love the rustic look and feel of this place. You enter order sit down and they call out your name to get your food. Unusual but for some fantastic, as you know me, I prefer to order sit down and they bring it to the table. Not here its mostly self service. Table was clean, I ordered pickle chips, motz sticks, a Duffy special, a Duffy burger with onion rings, and drink. We are sitting there talking and our order comes up. I get it and bring it back sit down and try a fry then a pickle chip. Immediate notes. Fries are soft there is 0 crunch, and very little seasoning. The pickle chips. Also from a frozen bag, not cooked fully through, no crunch and the breading rubs the roof of your mouth wrong. But it doesn’t stop there, trying a mozzarella stick we get hit with the same frozen bagged junk, the same breading and let me be frank, the star of these dishes was the RANCH dressing. Now im expecting a burger that wows from Bryan’s beloved burger joint. The patties are frozen, and they taste like the cheap patties from McDonald’s and Burger King. But those at least have some flavor. They try to ramp up the taste with the mayo, ketchup, mustard, and toppings. Unfortunately it just makes it more obvious to those that are burger people. Fake it til you make it, ya know? The onion rings also the cheap frozen bagged kind, not very tasty and we ended up throwing half of the pickle chips away, and 4 mozzarella sticks because they just were not enjoyable to eat.
I give this place 2 forks.
Food was not worth the price.
Nostalgia is what your going here for.
Will not be back.

It’s been a long couple of years waiting on the return of the Chicken Oil Company but the wait was worth it! Food was spot-on, service was fantastic, the decor is on point and the layout feels like home with some fancy new touches. This was a great way to celebrate moving our son back to school. Great job, team! See you soon!

One of my all-time favorites from my College days is recovered and still making the same amazing Tijuana fries.

Recently opened back up after a fire a few years back. The place has been remodeled but still has much of the original interior and the old rustic feel with the same great food. Walk in and up to the front counter to order your food, tell them your name and wait for your name to be called when your food is ready. Since they have recently opened back up they were pretty busy but worth the short wait. They have a few arcade games up front for adults or kids to play. Parking is good with an open lot beside the restaurant.
