Margarita is my go-to place for drinks and Mexican food. They have amazing drinks that are very interesting too!
I have visited margaritas many times and the drinks have never disappointed me. I love their mangonada that comes with a tamarind straw.
They also have some amazing appetizers. The queso they serve is probably the best I have ever had (I mean it!). I also order their street corn (always). For main course try their chicken chimichanga and tacos! You will love them. Also, the place opens until late at night which adds up to the goodness.
The only negative is sometimes I feel the wait time is too high because they have limited staff.
There is plenty parking on the street. They also have a free parking lot if you take the street next to the restaurant and get to their parking lot behind the restaurant.
The menu has a ton of options. Classic Mexican stuff but also a bunch of twists—tacos, burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, you name it. Easy to find something even if you’re picky or with someone who’s vegetarian or gluten-free. Everything I’ve had there has been pretty good. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely solid across the board.
Now, the drinks—this is where they crush it. They’ve got all kinds of tequila cocktails, and they don’t skimp on the pour. The margaritas are obviously the move / tons of flavors, and you can tell they actually use decent tequila. If you’re into trying different stuff, do the margarita flight. Bartenders know their stuff too, which helps if you’re not a tequila expert.
Overall, good place to hit for a laid-back night with friends, solid food, and some legit drinks. Not super fancy, just hits the right notes.
Margaritas are ofc great. It’s hard to pick favorites, but I love spicy, so 6 recommend Jalepeno Margarita
Also, try their jalepeno cheesy poppers
To preface we are all 25+ and provided our IDs for the server when ordering drinks. Four of us were from out of state, and the waitress kept our IDs stating she needed to check with her manager, which was not a problem.
The manager, a smaller guy maybe in his 20s/30s, came back stating our IDs would not scan, asking for another form of ID for everyone out of state. None of us came with our passports, since it was domestic travel, but offered to show credit cards/apple ID or anything else to verify the IDs but he said he wouldn’t take any of it.
He was very rude and heavily insinuated they were fake but when showed us with the black light, any one familiar with ID verification could see that they were real IDs. He even showed us how the second photo shows up when lit with a black light…kind of proving that our IDs were real. He singled out one girl who was from Ohio almost interrogating her about the validity of her ID. When the bride tried explaining that we all (the out of state IDs) just traveled through TSA for this wedding, and that all were the new “RealID” needed to travel, he told her that he didn’t need her attitude.
He had already been very condescending to our group since he walked up, so before even getting water – only chips – we decided to leave for the restaurant across the street.
As an area that has a high college/out of state population, I would have expected management to be competent at screening IDs, or at least polite about refusing service.
I’ve never had such a negative experience at any restaurant….across the US. I understand the worry about fake IDs, but management should be able to discern without it scanning, as again he even showed us with the black light. The bar and restaurant across the street however took our IDs with out any problem and had cheaper/great food and drinks and the atmosphere was more upscale.
Of course, the food keeps us coming back too. The queso and chips with their fresh salsa are absolutely addictive—we always end up ordering a second round. The enchiladas are flavorful and satisfying, and the margaritas? Perfectly balanced and refreshing every time. But it’s really Oscar’s attentiveness and the way he makes every guest feel valued that elevates the entire experience. He’s the kind of bartender who makes you feel like a friend, not just a customer.
If you’re looking for consistently great food, drinks, and service that actually makes a difference, Margaritas is the spot—and definitely grab a seat at the bar if Oscar’s working. We’ll certainly be back!
