Social Profile:

Sacramento’s first Beer Garden built out of cargo containers. Der Biergarten was built on a lot at 24th and K Streets in Midtown Sacramento. The site is built with two cargo containers, a 40 foot that houses the bar area, and a 20 foot that houses the restrooms. The experience is 100% outdoors so you may enjoy the great Sacramento weather by day and the stars by night. We feature over 30 beers and many of them German as we have the most German beers in Sacramento. Did we mention the German food and that we are dog friendly… PROST!

Outdoor hangout offering German, Belgian & craft beers on tap, plus sausages & other classic eats.

Wow, wow, and well… wow. I had a great experience at Der Biergarten. I didn’t have a drink this time but I had the sausage platter and the fries with gravy. Holy crap! The sausages were well seasoned, juice and thick (cough cough there should be a pause), the fries were crisp and any Britt would agree with me. The gravy was killer and I would say the best I’ve had in a long time. Atmosphere was great and everyone was friendly.

I will be back.

Walking by the restaurant we were guided in by the pleased patrons, scent of seared sausages, and outdoor seating. Ordering food and beverages is easy at the front counter, and the selection of beers is impressive. Only one IPA on tap (but it’s a German restaurant, right!?) but I loved how they serve German pilsners in appropriate glassware. The food came out quickly, and the curbside seating was perfect for a late dinner. One consideration is that the music from the Golden Bear overwhelms the atmosphere of the Biergarten, so make sure you’re going to want to listen to the live music played there after 9pm.

If you want yummy German food, great beer and a relaxed inviting atmosphere this is a MUST VISIT if you’re in Sacramento.

We spent the day visiting museums then had lunch here. The moment we walked in the employees were friendly, helpful and kind.

Food & Service:
You walk up to the window to order then find a seat and they bring you your food.
I was so excited to try the Schnitzel and I wasn’t disappointed. I had the Schnitzel with the potatoe salad, sauerkraut & topped with lemon. WOW it was so dam good, squeeze the lemon on & chef’s kiss! The potatoe salad was good but different then American style I grow up with but very good, more citrus flavor then tangy. Sauerkraut was ok.
We ordered the pretzel with both kind of cheese, our favorite being the homemade Obstza, so dam yummy way better then the other bier cheese. Then we had the Berliner Dog, also very delicious.
Beer:
We had 2 of the #10. It was very nice to drink. The gentleman taking our order at the window let me taste 2 beers because I wasn’t sure which one I wanted. I’m not a beer drinker so this was very helpful.

We spent a total of $53.59

The next time we are in the area we will be back. Also they do fundraisers, the one posted was for SPCA through a dog costume party. SUPER COOL .

OMG! Best experience overall looked up German food and this beauty popped up, drove through the fog for 40 minutes but well worth it! From the beer to the food, even down to the sauerkraut and sauce, deliciously hit the spot The pretzel is a must but honestly everything was phenomenal. Definitely returning and spreading the word about this gem!

Walking around Sacramento and found a great Biergarden. I got a pint of Pilsner and a delicious Frankfurter. I’m German and it’s not the way my family serves it, but dang it was delicious!! Excellent choice of mustard. The seating is fantastic and very Biergarden traditional. A solid choice if your looking for great vibe and a great beer.

Nice place with only outdoor seating. The authenticity was pretty good. The beer was massive.

EDIT: Went back. Paulaner hefeweizen again. I got the pickle plate ($3.75). It was 2 Klausen dill spears, 2 small gerkhins and a flat layer of warm sauerkraut.

Counter service. Paulaner on tap (yay!) and friendly service. Two pints of beer $19.02 before tip. Food looks decent, but you have to be hungry. The portions look big. I like the breezy open air beer garden! I wish they had sturdy wooden benches though. One dude at my table (shared by maybe 12 people) was shaking his leg and the whole table wobbled non-stop. Then every time a person got up or sat down, the whole bench could feel it. Drove me nuts.

It was an enjoyable experience, I tried the Jager schnitzel with sour kraut and German potato salad and had a stein of the hefeweizen and also, I enjoyed the pretzel with beer cheese and two different types of mustard. The pretzel was really hot; the beer was really tasty; and the food was very enjoyable.

Have been here a few times with friends and will definitely keep coming back. Great lowkey spot to hang out and have some drinks outdoors. A good amount of seating considering how busy it gets, they have some games like hack sack, heaters for when it’s cold and shade covers for when it’s hot or drizzling.

The staff have always been nice and friendly when I’ve been. They answer questions about the drinks on tap and will give samples so you can get a drink you like. The food is also tasty, I’ve had the pretzel and garlic fries. The garlic fries are a must! Their pomegranate cider is my favorite currently but I’ll be trying more from their extensive menu.

Super nice Biergarten in a really convenient area, right in midtown near a bunch of other food and drink spots and small shops.

This had the German ancestors singing. Excellent food. Probably the best sourkraut I’ve ever had. Laid-back outdoor patio dining. We had a great time here for lunch with the whole family.
