Sacramento’s first Beer Garden built out of cargo containers. Der Biergarten was built on a lot at 24th and K Streets in Midtown Sacramento. The site is built with two cargo containers, a 40 foot that houses the bar area, and a 20 foot that houses the restrooms. The experience is 100% outdoors so you may enjoy the great Sacramento weather by day and the stars by night. We feature over 30 beers and many of them German as we have the most German beers in Sacramento. Did we mention the German food and that we are dog friendly… PROST!
Outdoor hangout offering German, Belgian & craft beers on tap, plus sausages & other classic eats.

I will be back.
We spent the day visiting museums then had lunch here. The moment we walked in the employees were friendly, helpful and kind.
Food & Service:
You walk up to the window to order then find a seat and they bring you your food.
I was so excited to try the Schnitzel and I wasn’t disappointed. I had the Schnitzel with the potatoe salad, sauerkraut & topped with lemon. WOW it was so dam good, squeeze the lemon on & chef’s kiss! The potatoe salad was good but different then American style I grow up with but very good, more citrus flavor then tangy. Sauerkraut was ok.
We ordered the pretzel with both kind of cheese, our favorite being the homemade Obstza, so dam yummy way better then the other bier cheese. Then we had the Berliner Dog, also very delicious.
Beer:
We had 2 of the #10. It was very nice to drink. The gentleman taking our order at the window let me taste 2 beers because I wasn’t sure which one I wanted. I’m not a beer drinker so this was very helpful.
We spent a total of $53.59
The next time we are in the area we will be back. Also they do fundraisers, the one posted was for SPCA through a dog costume party. SUPER COOL .
Counter service. Paulaner on tap (yay!) and friendly service. Two pints of beer $19.02 before tip. Food looks decent, but you have to be hungry. The portions look big. I like the breezy open air beer garden! I wish they had sturdy wooden benches though. One dude at my table (shared by maybe 12 people) was shaking his leg and the whole table wobbled non-stop. Then every time a person got up or sat down, the whole bench could feel it. Drove me nuts.
The staff have always been nice and friendly when I’ve been. They answer questions about the drinks on tap and will give samples so you can get a drink you like. The food is also tasty, I’ve had the pretzel and garlic fries. The garlic fries are a must! Their pomegranate cider is my favorite currently but I’ll be trying more from their extensive menu.
Super nice Biergarten in a really convenient area, right in midtown near a bunch of other food and drink spots and small shops.
