We went to Ruth’s Chris for a birthday celebration and everything was perfect from start to finish. We were seated immediately, and when a nearby group was a bit noisy, the staff gladly moved us to a quieter spot — no problem at all.
We started with cocktails (fantastic!), then enjoyed warm, fresh bread. We shared a small Caesar salad that was the perfect size before our entrées arrived. I had the special that included a 6-oz filet with shrimp, creamy mashed potatoes that melted in my mouth, and dessert. My daughter had the 11-oz filet — perfectly cooked — and even asked for extra butter because it was so good!
We also shared a shrimp cocktail and our favorite shoestring fries. The sauces are incredible! For dessert, they surprised her with crème brûlée and cheesecake to celebrate the birthday – at no charge – which i really, really appreciated. How many restaurants do that?
The manager checked in twice, and owner Scott even stopped by to chat for several minutes — such a genuine, welcoming touch. Absolutely top-notch service, amazing food, and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend Ruth’s Chris Pittsburgh — and they validate parking if you park in their garage! Another nice added touch.

Food served on hot plates! Don’t come starving because you’ll burn your mouth unless you let your food cool for like 10 minutes. Friendly service and our waiter was well knowledgeable of the menu. Reimbursed for our parking in the garage. Parking was the biggest issue for us. We were a few minutes late for our reservations but they were fine about it. We ultimately felt very welcomed for our first time there. Food was delicious and the sides are served family style (shareable sizes). Sweet potato casserole was my favorite!! My boyfriend got to pick an array of knives to cut his steak with. Bathrooms are immaculate. We made reservations the night before via their site and it was very easy to do. They called us the day of to reconfirm our reservations. Totally random but if you’re a people watcher, ask to sit by the windows.

I went to Ruth’s Chris with two friends to celebrate my birthday, and it was such a treat! We started with the spicy shrimp appetizer and followed it up with perfectly cooked filet mignon, four delicious sides, and indulgent desserts. Everything was absolutely delicious!
One side— the au gratin potatoes—threw me off a bit, as they were prepared in chunks rather than the thin, layered slices I expected. Still tasty, just not what I envisioned.
The service was outstanding—Annette and what felt like 15 other attentive team members made sure we had everything we needed. Truly a five-star experience overall!

I used to find this restaurant absolutely delicious and have always ordered the same dish — a steak with a blue cheese crust and French fries.
This time, however, the fries came out almost raw, extremely soggy, and had to be sent back. The crust on the steak was nothing like it used to be — not in texture, presentation, or flavor.
I left a bit disappointed, especially considering this used to be such a great restaurant — and given that it’s not exactly a cheap place either

This has always been one of my favorite restaurants and to this day the best steaks I have ever had. Not so much the case anymore. We went about a month ago and it was the first time that the steak wasn’t fabulous. Everything else including the salads and side dishes and cocktails, were spectacular. I figured it was just a fluke so we went back two nights ago. I ordered the ribeye and got a strip. I ordered it medium, and it was medium well, which isn’t horrible but it was very dry. I really don’t think I’ll be going back, which is a shame because I’ve probably been there 30 times in my adult life.

As a steakhouse, Ruth Chris upholds its promise to deliver melt-in-your-mouth and well seasoned steaks. We have been on a steakhouse journey throughout Pittsburgh and this place is up there as one of our favorites. Service was very attentive and always checking in on us. To start, we shared crab cakes and Ruth Chris salad which were already winners. The steaks, both filets, were done to our liking and stayed warm until the last bite. As a side, we opted for sautéed spinach with garlic which paired really well with the steaks. We were full but decided to round out our meals with desserts – so we each got the cheesecake and chocolate sinful cake. While they were delectable, we wished that we shared since they were both so luxurious. We made sure not to leave any crumbs on the plate. For me, Ruth Chris brought the ambience, the service and a great meal all-in-one.
Tip: get your parking validated not only for the duration of your time spent at the restaurant but the rest of the night!

My husband and I were visiting Pittsburgh from NJ and always loved going to Ruth Chris in Jersey.
The food was excellent as usual. The steak and other entrees were amazing. The steak salad which we ordered was not as Fresh as it’s supposed to be. But nonetheless we had a good time.
The waiter was very friendly and we had a great experience with her.The manager however walked around as if we did not exist, while acknowledging the tables next to us. This was definitely in poor taste and would appreciate if Equal treatment was given to all customers.

Really excellent service! We went for my boyfriend‘s birthday and there was barely anybody there at 7 PM on a Tuesday! We got a big booth and our server was very quick and efficient and the place was very clean and the plates were massive portions! We ordered the lobster mac & cheese, the crab stuffed mushrooms, steak, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. I’m not joking when I say the spinach was the best spinach I ever had wowz. everything was cooked to perfection! There is a parking lot attached to the building which we didn’t know, might be worth asking when you make reservations or call to ask where the lot is that they validate parking for!
