it was so cool to visit the original KFC! I had a great experience! First, it’s definitely very popular as you might expect, but the system for food orders and preparation was very efficient and good. The workers definitely know what they’re doing and know how to get through a crowd. Second, the classic chicken was extra delicious. I don’t know if they’re actually any difference… maybe it was just because I was eating it at an iconic location… But it just tasted extra good and fresh. third, the museum is so cool! If you are coming here, definitely plan to have some extra time to look around and read some signs! I did not expect to find the museum as cool as I did, but it was very interesting. There are all kinds of cool historical pieces, documents, old merchandise, and old restaurant technology. Definitely check it out!!

Finally, I made it! I had a road trip and drove through this KFC! The food was very oily, even the salad; I would give it one star. However, the museum and the vibe were worth it! So many things to discover! Museum is 5 stars! Very grateful to visit this place!

This location is the original Sanders Cafe (aka first ever KFC). Definitely recommend stopping to check out the free museum and learn more about the Colonel if you’re taking a roadtrip. The fried chicken I ordered was hot, fresh and crispy. So were the chicken tenders we tried!

Fun and unique museum from kentuckys history mixed with chicken. Probably the best KFC in the state and a great interior design to accompany it. Really fun to see and walk through the original.

The “old” restaurant/museum was cool to see. Lots of old memorabilia in the back room. The entire store is VERY clean. The food is average kfc food. Don’t expect better food because it’s location.

Fantastic experience. I’ve noticed some negative reviews about food, but we thought the chicken was out of this world – hot, crispy, delicious, and worthy of being served at the first KFC location. The museum was interesting, too, though I thought it understated the *history* of Sanders a bit in favor of a lot of fun KFC imagery (random product packages, etc.).

A bit busy, but to be expected as a tourist spot for a Saturday in the summer at lunch time! We ordered and had our food ready for us within 5-10 minutes, which was great considering the rush. Woman tending the register had the cutest pair of KFC bucket earrings that she made herself. Definitely worth the stop if driving through KY.

The restaurant portion was horrible. We waited 27 minutes for our order of simple two piece chicken and 5 piece tender. They said they were waiting on tenders, which is hogwash as they don’t take that long to fry. Wasn’t impressed with the work ethic of staff. As 20 people stood in the lobby waiting on their food to add insult to injury an employee talked with a customer she knew the whole time, people were looking at each and wondering why she wasn’t working as we all waited way to long. Unacceptable. The museum is a different review and was terrific.

Their highway road sign was notably attractive on my way through Kentucky back to Ohio. This KFC is not only a restaurant but also a museum where I was feeling that I was eating in a last-century house. I was not hungry but I had to try the chicken wing here. The store had drive thru service and food came out fast. The chicken tasted not different from that of other kfc stores, but it was definitely an amazing experience to enjoy the historical KFC tour.
