I really like this place. The staff is really friendly and greeted me as soon as I walked in. I order the BBQ plate and my two meats where brisket and burnt ends. My sides were fries and baked beans. I also order a rib bone to try. The food was really good. ALL of the meat was tender and full of flavor. The fries were seasoned well and crispy. The baked beans were done just right, not overcooked like some places. I highly recommend 10/10

Great BBQ, Horrible service. We bought a huge order. Over $300. The service was terrible. At first they refused to provide any containers to take our food away in. We ordered a TON of food. Again, over $300 worth. They wanted us to take it away simply wrapped in aluminum foil with the foil in brown paper bags. Standing there begging for proper containers, the grease had already leaked through the paper bags and was getting on their counter! Their solution? Put it all in a cardboard box. Guess what? The grease leaked through that as well! We told them it would leak through the box and asked for proper containers. They said no. Now our car has meat grease stains from the lack of proper containers and the grease that leaked through the bags and the box. See photo. What a terrible way to treat your customer who dropped a ton of money in your restaurant! You should really provide proper “to go” containers that don’t leak.

Probably the best barbecue I’ve had here in Lawrence. It’s nice that I don’t have to drive all the way up to Casey to get good barbecue because it’s right here in my college town. I got the two meat dinner with ribs and brisket, fries and green beans and they were amazing. The ribs were juicy and tender, and fell right off the bone. The fried green beans were impeccable. I definitely will be back. If you have a chance, I highly recommend checking this place out for some good barbecue.

The ribs and brisket I bought for the second time were very dry.
The coleslaw and baked beans were very sweet, and the potato salad was also not good. I won’t be returning.

Definitely one of the best barbeque places I’ve ever been to. I got a BBQ plate with burnt ends and sausage. Both were great. For my sides I got fries and fried pickles. The fries were decent but the fried pickles were perfect. Some of the best fried pickles I’ve ever had. Highly recommend them.

Enjoyed a nice lunch with my son at Biemer’s. My favorite was the smoked chicken Wings. Got ’em naked so we could sample all the sauces. Loved the simplicity of the restaurant and small-town diner vibe.

I dined in to Beimer’s staff was very friendly and interested in how I liked all the food and very attentive for a counter service restaurant. The place was very clean and had a pretty decent lunch crowd. I was recommended to get the 2 meat plate since it was my first time. I went with Ribs and Pulled Pork and was able to pick 2 sides. I went with Beans and Coleslaw.
Everything was pretty great. They had 5 different variations of sauce and had some of the vinegar stuff for the Memphis and East Coast folks. The pulled pork was tender juice and great flavor! And came with a good portion. They put 3 decent ribs on the plate. The flavor was great and they did fall of the bone but the bite was slightly chewy not bad at all though just probably middle of the pro road for the KC area. The slaw is vinegar based but is still sweet and I was actually really impressed with it. The best slaw I have had in a while! The beans were definitely pit beans the sauce was a little thick for my liking but the flavor was spot on with that smokey taste with just a little bite to it. I think they even tossed a small burnt end into my portion of it. They were pretty good! All in all I got more than I really needed to eat on the 2 meat plate and a drink for about $17 and I would say it was worth it! This place is definitely worth a try when in the area!

WOW! 5 stars for the fried green beans alone! Best side I ever ate at a bbq joint. Perfectly crisp & the batter was seasoned so well. They come with a side of creamy housemade ranch – so so good. You MUST get it! The bbq was also very good & I enjoyed my loaded baked potato topped with thin sliced brisket & turkey. The brisket was a tad bland but paired well with their original bbq sauce (a bit on the sweet side for me). The ribs were super tender & fell off the bone. Sausage was good too. I like how the 2 meats 2 sides meal is served with a bun so you can make your own sandwich. Service was friendly & helpful & loved the old school ambiance. We were looking for a bbq joint on the way to a KU basketball game & so glad we found this spot! Will definitely be back next time we’re in town.
