chance to stop in while back in the area. I planned ahead and brought the whole family.
Walking in, I was surprised by the layout—it’s a nice blend of bar and dining space with options (larger section of different beverages). The staff was friendly, and service was faster than expected. It wasn’t very long before they brought the food to the table.
We usually share a bit of everything, so I got to try
several dishes. The chicken caesar salad was good, nice size pieces of chicken and a very decent sized salad. The chicken fingers were well-sized and had good flavor (a good number of dipping sauces to choose from). We also tried a few specialty burgers – I didn’t realize the burgers came with double patties, which caught me off guard. I had the Texas Rodeo Burger, which was tasty, but my favorite was actually The Boot chicken sandwich my wife ordered.
I’m already planning a return visit—this time to check out the bar and explore more of the menu. It’s a chill spot, and I can see us having a great time hanging out over drinks.
Meals are rarely served fully hot—one item may come out warm while the rest is ice cold—and this has happened consistently. The food itself has also become bland, with minimal flavor compared to what it once was. More concerning, in recent visits I have found suspicious items in my food, which has completely eroded my confidence in the kitchen.
Prices have also skyrocketed. At first, the increases were manageable because the food was genuinely excellent, but at this point, the cost is completely unjustified by the quality being served—it feels like robbery.
Service has become extremely slow, even when the restaurant isn’t busy. It feels like FWOT is relying on its old reputation rather than the experience it delivers today. Much of the focus seems to be on the bar crowd and IPAs, while customers who are there primarily for food are treated as an afterthought.
I used to recommend FWOT without hesitation, but unfortunately, I can no longer do so.
The inside is setup nice, you can see TVs from everywhere. The service was attentive and there was not a long wait for anything.
Prices are fair, highly recommend.
The chicken sandwich came on a massive bun which was compensated for by having 2 smaller pieces of chicken in 1 sandwich. The teriyaki used on the boneless wings was sweet & salty without being too sweet.
The frizzled onions were light and crisp, Lemon pepper wings were bursting with flavor, Asian spicy wings were a medium heat while still keeping actual flavor, the Nashville were firey with a strong kick with an undernote of tomato flavor.
Irish fries had cheese whiz, crushed bacon, and scallions they were cooked to order piping hot with fluffy fries. The sugar cookies were fairly standard they were a dense sugar cookie that tasted sweet without making me feel like my teeth would rot.
Overall a pleasant experience and would recommend coming.
Update: I’ve now been here 10+ times and continue to love it!
Special mention – reheat instructions attached to the bag were greatly appreciated!
