It’s my birthday!!! I’ve been craving iHop for the last 25 years, since my last visit to the USA, so for my birthday, that’s where we headed.
Seated immediately, and attended by Jarrid, a really pleasant, polite, friendly, helpful young gentleman.
Drinks arrived swiftly, and we had a few minutes til the food arrived.
Curious about “biscuits and gravy” we ordered these too, and asked…. Jaddid said he wasn’t sure, but went to check, as he was curious, too!!
IHop Salem didn’t fail to deliver, and surpassed my memory of just how darned GOOD American bacon is!
Props to Jarrid, who went way above and beyond.
(And biscuits and gravy? I guess they were ok… I didn’t have any expectations as I had never had them before…)

This is my go to place especially after work or working out. But I was just kind of disappointed. I entered the place like I always do, and I think a manager or supervisor told me to just go in and pick a seat so I did. This was around 945am. (I’m sure I wasn’t supposed to but she technically seated me bcuz she gave me a menu – she was very nice).
I heard her say my table cuz not long after that Naima T, my server came to me. She seemed very short with me like I’ve done something wrong. I said my pleases and thank yous and even smiled when she seemed impatient (tapping her fingers on the back of my booth chair while I told her my order) I just wanted over easy instead of scrambled eggs. She gave me my receipt quickly even before I have eaten half my food. Amongst other red flags, I was getting annoyed. I was so polite. On top of that, it was a $6 meal (+11 free pancakes cuz of app rewards). 20% tip was $3 and I gave her a $10 despite of how she treated me, like I was unwanted. Then she became super friendly.
I get that people get busy and have off days. I didn’t ask for much. I legit asked for a very simple meal. (Got my meal in less than 10mins, that’s how easy.) and yes I felt rushed and unwanted.

If I could give a negative review I would we got two steak tip meals steak tips were extremely dry and cold we told the server we didn’t want it and she said you can keep everything else we replaced the steak with chicken fingers and they continued to charge us for the steak full price when both plates weren’t even touched French toast was given for an extra price we were never told one French toast was left untouched and they continued to charge us after complaining about it and not touching the food. Extremely unprofessional and money hungry will not be returning if you want to avoid this don’t go food was cold and dey and we were still ignored terrible management on a Saturday morning hopefully this gets fixed.

I fell in love with my waiter. Her name was Abby or it was Gabby. I’m not sure if it was Abby or Gabby, but she was really attentive. She listened to me. She smiled. She was nice and food was good. I got a burger. I wish I wish I took a picture of the food. I like IHOPmaybe this biased but it was great five star. It’s kinda empty inside, but it was very clean and people there to greet me smile all by myself it was good.

When we came in they said to just pick a booth, so we did. Then we waited for 15 minutes before even getting a menu or silverware when other people behind us sat down and were greeted with both. We asked multiple servers who our server was and they told us to hold on. After 30+ minutes of sitting there and no one saying a single word to us or even asking if we needed drinks – we finally left.
By far, the worst restaurant service I’ve ever experienced.

Food was awful.
Asked for crispy potatoes to be extra crispy and they where barly cooked. The hollandase sauce was cold and the bacon had no flavor ($6 for 4 very small strips). The coffee was undrinkable and the oj was watery.

Ordered online for someone else and when I gave it to them we saw that the strawberry banana pancakes had no strawberries and no whipped cream, just bananas…
Manager wasn’t very caring and wouldn’t offer a refund unless I didn’t agree to wait for the order to be corrected and left without the food which is what I did. My wasted time, energy, gas, and the wear and tear on my vehicle should’ve been compensated for properly with a FULL REFUND RIGHT AWAY in ADDITION to correcting my order!!

Horrible do not waste your money. Ordered chicken fried steak and they neglected to tell me they were out of country gravy until after I got my food. I wouldn’t have even bothered ordering it had I know. So I got a side of hollandaise sauce instead which was cold as ice. Workers need to put a little more pride into what they do. I won’t be coming back.

Staff members were nice and the food definitely tasted better than average IHOPs. Burgers and sandwiches were cooked beautifully, which was surprising to us. Pancakes and omelettes were ok.
Pretty nice overall, and if you decided to come between 2-10pm don’t forget to ask about the happy hour menu, so worth it!
