My friend took me here for supper because it’s his favorite place. Now I know why. Our waitress Jasmine was very nice and so was Brooke. Food was delicious and Jasmine was very attentive and also quick to refill our drinks and take our empty plates. I will definitely try to get back there soon.

Been living in Virginia all my life especially around the Lynchburg area. I had always heard good things about the colonial restaurant, however I’ve only visited here recently. it is an easy place to get to with plenty of parking. The interior of the restaurant is well done, kinda log cabin feel.
Service was decent. Did appear that the way staff was attended to the folks eating.
The food was lackluster. Didn’t feel like there was a lot of seasoning. Also felt like the cook may have been less experienced, has my hamburger steak was cut nearly into probably to check whether it was well done. There was plenty of desert, I didn’t think that it was prepared in house.
Not a bad dinner but then again just ok food.

We love stopping here as we travel from the Shenandoah Valley. Husband’s hot dog was scrumptious. Have always wanted to try their pie but usually order a meal and I’m too full. Today I wasn’t very hungry so excitedly ordered the pecan pie. I was very disappointed to see it had barely any pecans, only a few up near the crust. When politely asked about it was told ,”we’ve been getting them from same supplier for years”…..then, “went back and looked and they look fine, only a few sparse places here and there.” That’s it. Done. So reckon I just got “lucky” and got from the “sparse” section.
No, “may I get you a piece with more pecans or I’ll discount the charge.”
I do see other photos here of pecan pie slices that look like a normal pecan pie. As you can see, mine was “different”…. ♀️
I so rarely have the nerve to voice a negative opinion anywhere that I found it hurtful to be treated like I had a problem because I really wanted pecans on it my pecan pie. Oh well. Sigh. We will still continue to stop here. I know this was a one off, just wished they’d cared.

I really enjoyed my first time here. Completely unexpected. The portions were sizable, and the food was delicious. It was quiet and clean. They are always busy so I wanted to stop by and I was not disappointed. I had the chicken strips with macaroni and cheese, broccoli and hush puppies. We also ordered the hamburger steak with green beans. It was all really good. I have no complaints. I will definitely be going back.

My Veggies omelet was mouth watering delish!

This has to be one of the best restaurants in Virginia!!! Please see the pics. The service was incredible! The food was incredible! The atmosphere was incredible! Angie, our server, was friendly and very attentive. The service was fast and the restaurant was very clean. They also have a very well stocked, classy bar. The only drawback is that they are an hour away from our house or the would be our every Saturday thing as well as the occasional stop for drinks after work. We will definitely be back and are excited about our next trip!

This is my first time here as I was recommended it by a local. Whenever I’m heading down South or coming back soul food is my go to. I ordered the fried catfish and it was mouth watering! They fried it just right and with some Texas Pete it was out of this world. As for the mac & cheese it was mediocre nothing worth bragging about. My family member did not like the potato salad at all. For the pork chop it was okay they said. All I can say is the place is clean and the fish is bussin! I would come back for the fried catfish.
