**Totally beyond our expectations! **
Our first time trying Hawaii food. The grilled chicken, pork, and vegetables here are absolutely amazing! The flavors are sweet and perfectly cooked. (I would say it’s quite similar as Chinese food).
The staff is also incredibly friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed the peaceful, relaxing ambiance of the restaurant, especially during the beautiful sunset. This place exceeded all of our expectations (from Google reviews)

Me and a friend were super hungry during his visit and decided to check this place out. The service was very fast and the food was delicious! I very much enjoy the teriyaki chicken and the rice was very good as well. I had never had macaroni salad before, but that was super fantastic! I would 100% stop by there again! It was also on the cheaper side, just getting the small plate was very filling.

Wonderful customer service tonight. I am a regular customer of Hawaiian Time and have been for years. The food was good, as it always is. However, tonight I had exceptional service from the 2 young ladies at the front counter. It was New Year’s day and very close to closing. I expected some urgency to get me on my way like I usually experience at most places that are about to close, understandably. However, that is the opposite of what I received. I was the only customer and all the chairs were up off the floor. The minute I walked in I was cheerfully greeted by both young girls. They were incredibly attentive, friendly, and eager to help me. They didn’t make me feel rushed in anyway. They both took their time and helped me pick out a Hawaiian drink, giving their personal preferences when asked. Their attitude never strayed away from being kind, helpful, and positive. They worked well with each other and made my experience better than it has been at any of the other locations to date. Unfortunately, it has become my experience, and one that I have come to expect, to receive less than average service when I go somewhere to pick up take out. Not from these two. It was well above average. It was perfect. These awesome young women provided the type of service that should be expected. Everytime. Because of them and the service they provided, I will go out of my way to return to this location for now on.

Both me and my sister ordered chicken in whatever fashion it was flavored. It was SO dry. This happened before but I regarded it as a one-off situation since they used to be so good! But, after this visit, I will not return.

Ultra small portions for a big price. Use to get a decent lunch or dinner for over 15 years. Lately something happened, food quantity shrunk and prices went up. You’ll find better options around. I know everybody is facing tough times, however alienating costumers it’s not the best practice.

Stopped in for the first time today after hearing about it from multiple co workers for ever… Got there at 815 and ordered the mauna loa chicken. After reading about the long wait times, I was pleasantly surprised at less than 8 minutes wait. They were not busy, but had a nice line flowing through. The chicken was very good, not really spicy, but a touch of heat. The rice was very good, and the Mac salad was excellent. This was better than most of the places I went to on the Big Island last year honestly. The teriyaki sauce was not overly sweet or salty, and I was very happy with my first try. The price is right for 11.95 for the medium plate. I couldn’t finish it all. I will be back again soon to try some other Hawaiin flavors.
