Took the crew here, first time.
The atmosphere is really nice, love the center piece bar.
I had my usual hot n sour soup and Mongolian beef. The soup was just okay, lacked flavor. The Mongolian beef was a bit over cooked and the portion was slim. The side of fried rice was brown and missing the peas and onions and other things you’d expect. The egg rolls was not homemade, nothing about it was fresh.
The best thing on the table was the calamari, very good. Tender and full of flavors.
The service was good, only one person working all the tables and bar, they need help.
Would I go here again? Probably not, there are so many other greater places to eat good Chinese food.

Visited this place on a Saturday night and it was a bit busy and had a waiting time of 10min while it took longer than that. The food also too quite a bit to be served. However, it was very delicious. The staff were respectful and the decor of the place was beautiful.

Had a lovely lunch here. Enjoyed the veggie pho! Also had some steamed dumplings that were yummy. Great menu, service was good!

I door dashed steak pho and the driver spilled all of the broth in the bag ruining my spring roll. I know that’s not HOL’s fault but the steak was overcooked. Next time eat in or pick it up myself.

I see a bunch of reviews about good vegan options, and this place is even listed on HappyCow, but the only two vegan options on the menu are the pho with tofu and veggies and the sesame balls. The waitress told me their tofu dishes all have fish sauce, so those aren’t even vegetarian. I enjoyed what I got, but I was disappointed by the lack of variety.

We were feeling nostalgic for the classic Poo-Poo platter appetizer and they had it. It was delicious. Many classic Chinese American dishes. The cocktail list looked inviting, but we didn’t partake. The atmosphere is pretty with giant murals. The bar is the centerpiece of the restaurant. Definitely a nice place to hang out. There are sidewalk tables that would be nice on a nice summer night.

I ordered a veggie pho from House of Lu for my mom since she wasn’t feeling well, and the service was exceptional. When I arrived, the gentleman at the counter not only handed me the order but also explained how to store and reheat the pho in case she couldn’t finish it all at once. He was genuinely concerned, asked how she was doing, and even wished her a speedy recovery. That level of care meant a lot to me. Great food and incredible customer service!

House of Lu on Marietta Square is a solid spot for lunch with a diverse menu that highlights fresh ingredients and flavorful dishes. Their lunch specials offer a variety of options, making it easy to enjoy a satisfying midday meal. We ordered the fried dumplings which were ok, not sure I would order them again, but the salt and pepper calamari is a must-try: it’s lightly crispy with just the right amount of spice and seasoning. Great service and ambiance make it a popular lunch choice. We also tried the Kung Pao chicken, which had a satisfying kick and fresh veggies that balanced the heat perfectly. With great flavors, attentive service, and a cozy ambiance, House of Lu makes for a great lunch destination.

Excellent fresh flavored food! This family run restaurant strives to provide a healthy flavorful meal in a chic atmosphere. The tradition of cooking from a “Lu” or a flavored broth informs this restaurants non-msg sauces and soups. We’ve been coming for years and they have only gotten better!! Plus decor and service make this feel like a friendly fine dining vibe. Try the coconut shrimp-no one does it better (a lightly sweet and creamy sauce) and the sesame chicken is light and flavorful. Singapore noodles are pungent and fragrant and not too spicy. Just off Marietta Square it’s a lovely place to eat then walk, shop, and visit the Center “Glover Park” with 100 year old oaks, a fountain and gazebo. All together this makes a romantic date or a super meet-up spot for friends.

The food was okay. I felt it needed more seasoning. With the dish I ordered, I was glad I asked for an extra side of the hot oil/pepper because it needed it. I even added soy sauce to it. For the dish my guest order, they stated it needed more sauce. We both didn’t enjoy the egg rolls. But the service and atmosphere was great. Overall 3-stars for the food, 4-stars for service and atmosphere.
