Dinner (bar food) at The Esso on the Clemson campus last Wednesday. What a find for a fun sports bar w/ friendly staff and pretty d___ good food. Taylor is an Excellent bartender. Check out The Esso is ever visiting Clemson. We also visited a great brewery in downtown Greenville called Yee Haw to watch the Miami/Ole Miss game. Also worth a visit.

We had a great stop here on a road trip. Were there during an away game and loved the vibe with the regulars. The service was fantastic and atmosphere fantastic.

Pretty cool old pub/ eatery. Lots of Clemson history and the decor was neat. Food was ok. Cabbage and sausage soup was really good, as well as the fried green tomatoes. When busy it’s hard to find parking. Waitress was very nice and answered a bunch of questions we had. Close to the University.

I have always thought that the esso was just a bar…but their food is amazing! I had the greyhound and my dad had the philly..and we shared a basket of okra. Drinks were also good. We tried the blackberry lemonade and the clemson orange dream.
Our waitress was super sweet and attentive and invited us back for sunday meat and three! Perfect staff. Ashley was running the bar and she had the best personality and was super friendly & constantly checked on her staff which I have a LOT of respect for.
Do not sleep on this Clemson gem.

Beer and food were really good. Bartender was very attentive, and very friendly. Casual laid back atmosphere and very clean. The only reasons for not getting five stars: 1) No prices on the printed menu, customers should not have to open a website to look at prices. 2) the short bar stools. I’m 6 ft tall yet still felt like I was looking up at the bar, y’all need some taller stools!

Situated within sight of Clemson Memorial Stadium, this has been a staple of the Clemson bar scene for decades. The food is pretty good, but you really come here for the experience – with Clemson memorabilia adorning the walls and the classic bar environment, this is a great place for pre-game and post-game celebrations. Yet, even during the summer off-season when I visited, they still draw in a decent local crowd, including families for dinner on a Sunday night.
Yes, you can get better food elsewhere, but the Esso Club is a Clemson experience like no other. That alone warrants at least one visit.

Great place too eat before or after Clemson games. Arrive early anytime there is any home game. This is THE place to go for good eats, cold beer, and hanging with friends. Find parking anywhere else but don’t expect it here. There is maybe 10 spots to park.

Have almost never sent food back at a restaurant or even complained. Tater tots came out a whitish color and literally cold inside, like barely thawed, icey middle. Clearly seemed like some oversight that they were so undercooked. I let the waitress know and she saw them and agreed. She came back to my table and stated the manager wishes to inform me, without seeing the tots mind you, “that’s the way we serve them”. The waitress was very sweet and apologetic and I asked for the managers name. Jenna. So now you know how she operates the restaurant. Twilight zone level of dismissiveness, and incompetence.

This is a club from an old Esso gas station that was once like a honkey tonk bar. It doesnt look like much from the outside. The inside is wood and Clemson memorabilia clad. Service is so friendly, and the food very, very excellent. Ample time all week to even get the old “meat and three”. Loved it!

A friend and I stopped in after a hike. The food was fresh . I had a fried chicken sandwich that was big and delicious. Their onion rings were perfect. Love the atmosphere and our server was on top of things.
