I regret giving this place 3 stars but my experience today ruined my perspective. My fiancee and I went here for Valentine’s day (my second time and her first time dining here). We made reservations a month in advance and were very excited to experience the wonderful food together. Unfortunately that was ruined once we arrived when the hostess informed us we were not to be seated at an actual table but instead at a bar. My fiancee asked the hostess if we could have a table and the hostess replied “we haven’t gotten any cancellations so no there won’t be any tables available”. We were both confused and shocked by the response considering we were not given any disclosure prior to making these reservations that bar seating vs. a table is a possibility upon arrival. We both decided to move on and continue to try to enjoy our Valentine’s day evening but when we were walked over to our bar seats we were further disappointed. The seating was in a very awkward and high foot traffic corner right in front of the register on the bar. We sincerely could not enjoy ourselves because it was severely overstimulating and my fiancee has sensory issues which made the experience displeasing. Every time I tried to take a bite of my food I would look up there was literally someone standing in front of me making eye contact by default since the register was right there and made me uncomfortable, my fiancee and I couldn’t hold a decent conversation due to the noise level/amount of foot traffic because of where we were seated, and after a while we asked for the check so we could leave. We didn’t want to end the night at Bonelli’s to end the way we did but our experience was not the greatest nor the expectations I had for this place. The staff themselves were wonderful and the food was delectable but hardly enjoyable when seated somewhere that clearly was not meant to be a dining area/experience. My recommendation to the business is to disclose to your consumers when making reservations on days like Valentine’s day is specify the potential seating arrangements (I even verified on the website and social media that bar seating being a possibility is not disclosed anywhere) as we were not the only ones in that same seating area that shared the same disappointment as us.

My favorite first cousin, my wife and I had the pleasure to dine here 2/25/26. I had the special which was a rustic mac and cheese which was unbelievable. My wife had another special, cajun angle hair pasta that was really delicious. My cousin had the chicken parm. I tasted it and the alfredo sauce was the best I have ever had. Our waiter, Tyler was very attentive to our every need and was a delight. I would highly recommend Bonelli’s to anyone that are in the Pensacola area!

So so good. My mom and sister and I had such a nice night eating here. The ambiance was so nice & cozy & felt so comfortable. There was some live music that went so well with the vibe & the service was spot on! Alli was the best server & so sweet! The food was spot on & everything we ordered was delicious, fresh, and authentic. We will absolutely be coming back again.

Wonderful service, almost everything made in house. They had live music, the food was pretty good, and the prices were reasonable. It is not a fast restaurant, they will tell you that up front as they are making all of the dishes in house.

It felt like going home — but better. From the moment we walked in, everything just felt right. The food was absolutely phenomenal; I haven’t tasted food this good in years. Every bite was packed with flavor and care.

The service was on point — our server was so down-to-earth and seemed to know exactly what we needed without us even asking. The atmosphere was incredible too: imagine a perfect mix between a classy, upscale restaurant and a cozy 90s kid’s bedroom. It was fun, stylish, and full of personality.

We both ordered vegan options, and they were prepared deliciously. You could tell the chef put real heart into every dish.

They have multiple seating areas, each with its own unique vibe. We ate in the section of the restaurant that was built from an old house dating back to the early 1900s. Being from a town where I grew up in a house from the 1800s, it truly felt like home — warm, familiar, and full of character. Our area had that perfect balance of upscale and nostalgic charm.

There’s also a beautiful patio area outside with red lights and heaters that gives off a romantic, cozy feel, another patio area designed for chill outdoor gatherings around a fireplace, and a smaller indoor space that’s more family-styled. Each part of the restaurant has its own energy, making it feel like several experiences in one.

We were so lucky to celebrate our very first wedding anniversary here. Bonnelli’s made it an unforgettable experience. Just awesome — awesome, awesome, awesome.

This place… I am truly sorry to have discovered this place on a visit to Pensacola, instead of when I was stationed there. This has got to be my favorite Italian restaurant. The food was incredible, I went with the ravioli dish and had it extra spicy. It was delicious. The meatballs are impressive. Super tender and juicy. Cannoli shells made elsewhere but the cream filling was on point. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt so stuffed and yet really wanted to keep eating. I took the leftovers home and warmed in the oven the next day for another meal, so I truly felt like I got my money’s worth.

This is the best Italian food in Pensacola, better yet all of Florida! I can always recommend this spot and 10/10 times will leave satisfied, full, and feeling great! Staff is just as wonderful as the fantastic food, and trust me the food is well worth every minute of the wait! It’s all made with love and care and you can truly tell! It feels special, Megan and Jessica were our servers tonight and I would seriously request one of them to help you! They explain the meals and help understand the menus perfectly! We come every special milestone and will continue this tradition at Bonelli’s!

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this review. I am new to Pensacola and I kept hearing about this place. Perhaps I had too high of expectations walking in, but unfortunately this place missed the mark.

For the pros:
the staff seem nice and very helpful. I was promptly escorted to the bar area where I wanted to enjoy my meal.

As for the cons:
I kept hearing the staff refer to it as slownelli’s over and over as they greeted guests. I thought maybe that’s a good thing, perhaps the food is worth the wait. In a nutshell, it wasn’t. I ordered the chicken Parm, I figured that’s a safe choice. I asked for some bread and I was given some cold soggy bread, not a great start. When the food arrived almost 40 mins after ordering it was a huge serving that could feed up to four adults I kid you not. However the quality was not there, the chicken was sliced and covered in melted cheese. I swear the chicken was boiled in water. There was no Parm crust to be found on my plate. It was served with angel hair pasta, bold choice. The pasta was overcooked and soggy. To add insult to injury it was drowning in a watered down tomato sauce that can only come out of a can it tasted so awful. I tried to pick through and eat what I could but after three or four bites I knew I was done.

I wanted to love this place but I did not. The other reviews here rave about the food. It makes me wonder if they have ever tasted authentic Italian food. Bonelli’s is no where close in my humble opinion.

We sought an authentic Italian restaurant with homemade pasta and stumbled upon a gem with stellar Google reviews—and it did not disappoint! The cozy, welcoming atmosphere felt like stepping into a family-run trattoria in Italy. The owner personally checked on each table, ensuring every guest felt valued. The menu featured classic dishes, but the daily off-menu specials added a delightful surprise. They can also work with vegetarian diets, so I was able to still get a special meal without the sausage or any other meat. They’re the only spot in the area serving spumoni, a high-quality, three-layered ice cream dessert that’s perfectly balanced and ideal for sharing.
My pasta dish was generously portioned, true to Italian hospitality, with enough for leftovers. Every element—sauces, pasta, recipes—was crafted from scratch, delivering bold, authentic flavors. The intimate dining room means reservations are a must; a “reservations only” sign greeted us, but the cheerful hostess found us a table. Our server was exceptional, offering thoughtful recommendations with personal insights and keeping our drinks filled.
This place is a must-visit for anyone craving a genuine Italian experience. Highly recommended!
