The new and improved place has only made for a better experience. Hostesses are nice. Servers are kind. Food never disappoints.

Love the appetizers alone! The cheese curds and the bacon gravy fries. So good!!!

Dishes are never disappointing!

Our first time trying here while we were in OBX. The food was really good especially the mashed potatoes and fried shrimp. The batter was light and seasoned well. Everything was great. We returned again the next day with some friends and sat in the dining area. Service was good even though the second day was busier. Nice place to also watch a game. Would definitely return again when we’re back in OBX.

not a bad experience but the food was average or slightly above. had to wait 10 minutes to be seated even though there were multiple tables available/empty. (and 10 minutes is not bad at all during tourist season in OBX)
the service staff was great and prompt and food came out quick. the wasabi mayo was very good but the tuna was not seasoned much, if at all. the craft burgers were good. and you can craft/create your own.
atmosphere was chill but not as welcoming as we expected based on what we have heard.
plenty of TVs to watch local and regional sports.
could tell all ingredients were fresh.

We stopped by for dinner at 4:40 pm and was seated immediately. When we left close to 6 pm there was a long wait to get a table as people were waiting inside and outside the main door. This is typical for a very good place to eat dinner in the OBX. Our server was very friendly and attentive to our needs, and the food we ate was very delicious and hot to eat. This was my family’s first visit to Two Roads Tavern and it will not be the last. We will surely visit again during our next OBX vacation.

Two Roads Tavern is a great restaurant. The service was wonderful and the food was really good. The crab cakes are phenomenal, all crab not filled with stuff you don’t want.

As a solo traveler, my review is mostly about the food. If you like burgers, sea food, and a mesh of bar and family style restaurants, this will do. No outside dining, though they have a deck around the outside if you want to sit out there. There can be wait times during busy hours.
I got the Bison buffalo blue cheese burger and the pickle brine chicken bites starter. The food came hot and fast enough but the flavor was sub par to me. I tasted nothing pickle-y or special about the chicken. Just call them bland chicken poppers, the sauce had all the flavor.
The bison patty was nice and thick and juicy. I didn’t specify a cooked level it came out med rare to medium. if you don’t like pink meat, ask them to cook it more.
Unfortunately the blue cheese overpowered this dish. It didn’t even have a hint of the kick I’m used to detecting with buffalo sauce. I couldn’t distinguish any other flavors over the blue cheese. I highly recommend if you want to try this or any other Burger to use to build your own option and get a different cheese. I wish I had gotten it with goat cheese it probably would have been amazing.

I sat at the bar because there was a 30-minute wait and I was eating by myself. Both of the bartenders were fast and courteous. If I were rating service alone, I’d give 5 stars.

Went here twice in 2 days. The atmosphere is phenomenal! The staff is upbeat, friendly and professional (thank you Hannah and Piper!!). The owner came to our table when I asked about their high end bourbons and he poured us an awesome Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged.

The food was good. I did a build your own burger and it was great, I got fries as the side and those were good too. The atmosphere was a bit noisy, they did have a bar so that contributed. But overall, great feel. Our waitress was very nice and great as well. I would say it’s worth giving a try.

5 stars, which is increasingly hard to find in OBX nowadays. Do yourself a favor and order the tuna bites. They were only $14 (market price), a generous portion, and served with a green onion aioli. Cooked perfectly too, and nice blackening job. I had the blue bison burger. It was cooked perfectly. I have never had bison before, so it was a great first time experience. Service was great, even down to the plates for apps without having to ask.
