Went there for breakfast and grant it was February 14 Valentines day. It was a little busy and I get that the staff was overwhelmed that day. But to be honest this was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Went in got seated and was around 10 minutes before anyone came over to take our order. We only ordered pancakes that was it. Had to wait an additional 1 hour just to get those pancakes, I took one bite and it was the worst pancakes ever, I told my wife I would rather eat her burnt pancakes than to take another bite. I didn’t eat anymore. We got up and paid our bill, and my wife spoke up and told the lady I didn’t like my pancakes and only took one bite, could we possibly get a discount, the lady said sure, and give a whole $5 discount. I realize it was a holiday and they were busy. But if that’s the best performance in service and food on a busy day,You need to close it down. I will never return. Just wanted to share my experience in Shelby NC.

Husband and I ate there yesterday. We were really looking forward to it. His breakfast sampler was ok. My chicken fried steak. The worst I’ve had any where. It was thin and deep-fried to a ” crunch”, very little gravy , the broccoli was cold the potatoes average. The saving grace. Our waitress KeeKee. What a joy! Sadly for her IHop needs to pair her with a much better cook.

I dont like leaving 1 stars but unfortunately I had to on this one. The other night before 9pm me and my family showed up excited to dine in for our daughters birthday who also had a friend with her. Upon arrival the waitress was very rude to us right off the bat rudely telling us they were taking mobile orders after 10pm and dine in would end. She came off like she was saying it because she wanted to go home early, like she hated her job and was taking it out on us… Then she said “come on come on, the other waitress will take care of ya’ll.” With a bad attitude. Btw the place was not packed. When the other waitress took over she was the sweetest and calmest waiter who had a much better attitude. While eating the rude waitress was yelling at her co-workers and being rude to the other customers. Its was absurd. Because of the new waitresses attitude me and my wife made sure to leave her a very large tip and not the other lady. The food was somewhere between a 1 and 5. While eating I said next time we will go to waffle house because it would of been a much better experience and the food would of been at least between a 5 and 10. Just saying, when you have a positive attitude no matter the situation or day or work style you should always put the customer first. Either that or you dont get tipped and will eventually lose your job. Your choice. Do better IHOP, no offense.

No hate to the workers at all; theyre all super nice. But everytime I go there, something’s going on. Either their grills broke down, their system is shut down, or something like that. Food is OK, bur not worth the wait everytime they have an issue, which they commonly do.

My two children and I came to this location last week which was the weekend we had the freezing rain. They were only accepting pick up orders and as soon as we stepped in. We were greeted by Candy who was so welcoming and in good spirits despite the circumstances. She offered us a table to sit while deciding on our order. She brought crayons and activity paper for the kids. She interacted with my kids in the best way, and they still remember her name, as well as Patrick who was also there and was so nice to us. Patrick and Candy definitely deserves some sort of recognition for their excellent customer service!!

Service was long. Food was good. It was cold though. I drove my grandfather here. The food was very delicious i had sausage eggs grits bacon and pancakes very full meal despite the cold atmosphere the food stayed warm. There was an employee(?) Walking around in a rick and morty hoodie which wouldn’t really be appropriate for kids. Thankfully neither my grandpa or me are kids. Its a treat yourself place but I’d rather opt for chinese.

IHOP has gone down in quality BAD! I asked for my eggs to be scrambled hard; which means to be well done and not liquidy and greasy. I ended up pouring grease and liquid out of them. I also asked to have my hashbrowns extra crispy, and of course they weren’t. My family was forced to sit in a booth that was cut up and had large holes in it, even though the dining room was like 90% empty. The coffee was awful. IHOP’s coffee is not of a good quality. It was like drinking some bad version of maxwell house cheap garbage. The only good food was the new york cheesecake pancakes. Everything else was very greasy and just nasty. I paid $57.86 for my 2 kids, wife, and I to have a nice Sunday brunch and I dont believe the value received was worth the money. I would recommend people stay away from this place.
