Wanted to try a new sushi spot so gave this place a try. Pleasantly surprised and glad we checked it out! The chef is very welcoming and kind. The food is amazing! I would totally recommend the scallop volcano roll and the albacore tuna house special sashimi! Yummy!!

Service was 10/10. Everyone was super nice and welcoming. However, I was really hoping the food would be up to par with the excellent service. I ordered the teriyaki bento box ($14.95), fish taco ($7 for 2) squid salad ($4.95), and the scallop volcano roll ($18.95). You have to eat the fish taco when it’s freshly made or the shell will get soggy. The fish was tender. The green sauce that comes on the taco reminds me of a cilantro avocado salsa verde. Completely threw me off. I think it would be better with spicy mayo or something different and maybe some cabbage or lettuce for extra crunch. The bento box came with 4 pieces of California roll, small portion of chicken teriyaki (no flavor just sweet) side of rice, 1 shrimp tempura, 4-5 pieces of tempura vegetables (my favorite) side of miso soup (bland) and it was suppose to come with a side salad that I didn’t get. Squid salad tasted like every sushi place (don’t think it’s made fresh-store bought). The volcano scallop roll was the most disappointing. On the menu it was suppose to be $16.95 but I was charged $18.95. They did give a very good amount of scallops, but it was cold. There was barely any creamy sauce on the roll, and it seemed watered down. Overall, I would give them 5/10, since this is a soft opening there’s definitely room for improvement. I really do wish them much success, but I don’t think I will be returning.

Our first time trying Ishikama and we will be back! We live locally in Saginaw and it’s a great spot for Japanese dishes. We tried their sushi rolls, fried rice, and different appetizers. All included great quality of seafood and the ingredients are so fresh. The prices match the quality. The customer service is even more amazing! The staff was welcoming and offered great recommendations when asked. Highly recommend and give it a try!!!

Food was absolutely amazing! Spicy edamame was great! Salmon sashimi with spicy Serrano pepper sauce was really ! Topped it off with chicken fried rice and tempura vegetables! Will definitely be coming back.
