The dal was amazing — rich in flavor, especially with the ghee on the rice. Eating it by hand gave that true Indian home-style feeling. Some curries didn’t taste exactly like typical South Indian dishes, but overall the food was delicious and fresh.
The location, service, and portion size were excellent for the price. Just this afternoon, I ate at another restaurant for almost the same cost (only $1 difference) — they served just 3 items but the taste was disappointing. Compared to that, Veg Vihaar truly stands out for flavor and satisfaction.
I literally left holding my stomach because the food was so filling and tasty .
Highly recommended — this place is worth visiting!
All their tiffin items – dosas, idlis are quite good. I like the benne dosa the most, personal choice.
Their Spinach tikki, aloo tikki are absolutely wonderful.
Their fried rice especially Schezwan Fried rice is one of the best and spiciest amongst all Indian restaurants around.
Other Chinese appetizers are just regular, nothing special but not bad.
Their thali is simple, desi style soups are excellent.
Their staff are polite, service is decent.
The reason for the 5 star is their consistency on service and they are reasonably priced.
You won’t drive 30 miles to come eat here, but it’s a definite local favorite.
First time we tried there north and South Indian both the cuisine and were not much please by North Indian. So we stick to South Indian food and it never disappoint . Ragi mudde with baigan, Maligu dosa was awesome and something different available here. They have raw jackfruit pulao , biryani and sabji. Tried pulao it was good .. overall a good place for vegetarian food.
The Mulbagi Benne Dosa was fabulous. Brought back a lot of good memories. The V V Special Kara Dosa was great too.
On the negative side, the Filter Coffee was an absolute disappointment. No flavor at all, and extremely watered down.
Service lacks quality. There is a lack of attention in the staff which, in the long run, will hurt the restaurant if they do not fix it soon.
Wait times can be lengthy on the weekends so prepare yourselves for that.
If it weren’t for some of these negatives, I would have given full 5 stars.
Overall, Veg Vihar is a reliable choice for tasty vegetarian food and a satisfying dining experience.
This vegetarian restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm, clean, and welcoming. The menu offers an impressive variety of vegetarian dishes, each prepared with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. Every dish we tried was delicious, well-seasoned, and beautifully presented.
The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, which made the experience even better. Service was quick, and the food arrived hot and fresh. What really stood out was the quality and taste—proof that vegetarian food can be both flavorful and satisfying.
Portion sizes were generous, prices were reasonable, and overall the restaurant exceeded expectations. Highly recommended for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends and family!
The highlights for me were definitely the sweets, especially the bobbatlu—soft, warm, and perfectly sweetened just like authentic home-style cooking. The sambar was rich and flavorful, and all the curries were cooked perfectly with great seasoning.
Overall, it was a wonderful meal with great taste, good quantity, and genuine South Indian flavors. I’d definitely visit again and recommend it to anyone who loves a hearty, tasty vegetarian thali!
