Wow! The interior is amazing and straight from the 80s/90s! Well maintained and is incredibly clean!
The food was well priced and was fantastic quality too! We tried them out for their new breakfast and we were so impressed.
Service was great and friendly and always made sure our coffees were topped up too!

I had no idea how sweet this gem of a place is, and its been just around the corner from our house since we moved here 9 years ago! We will be back for sure!

We visited here tonight for a special Birthday dinner for a small group of 4. We called the week prior to see if reservations were necessary at 4:30 and were told no it won’t be busy. When we arrived we asked for a booth and the rude blond girl at the front who seated us told they were all booked up! When we got there for 4:30 only 4 tables were eating in the whole restaurant. Through the course of our meal until the time we left 2 hours later those booths along with most tables still sat empty!
Pros; Food was hot, tasty.
Cons: Seating. Our waiter Peter rhymed off the menus etc. with ease but made us feel very rushed. He ran off so fast we could barely ask for things and considering the dining room was not busy there was no need for that. After paying there was no “thank you for coming, have a nice evening, etc”. Just took the cash and gone. Cheesecake was mushy and disgusting. No acknowledgement of this special birthday dinner even though we had cards, gift etc.

Not sure if we will go back. We have been here numerous times over the years but something has changed and not for the better.

I’m not sure if we came on a bad day, but our visit was disappointing.

I ordered the pork tenderloin which was described “Grilled pork medallions with your choice of mushrooms or sautéed onion”

It was supposed to come with seasoned potato wedges, veggies, and a warm bun.

The picture clearly shows that this is NOT pork tenderloin medallions, and looks like a flattened pork cutlet used for schnitzel.

An extremely small amount of veggies, a potato that was very obviously just cut in half, and I had to ask for a bun half way through my meal. For a $22 plate, that is absolutely unacceptable.

The drink glasses were terribly dirty (also viewable in picture) and stained, another diner had to pick a piece of dry broccoli from their glass.

We ate and left, usually I am very comfortable having corrections made to my meal the very odd time it happens. But, the gentleman service us did not pass off as friendly and understanding.

My Mom and I went to the Golden Valley Restaurant for breakfast. They started serving it in October. The food was delicious!
They gave lots of perfectly cook bacon: not greasy, lovely crisp and not burnt. We each had two eggs and substituted tomatoes for the potatoes. The Tomato slices were the size of soft balls and very tasty. We each had two cups of coffee because it was that good. When we got the bill we were surprised to see how affordable it was. I loved the retro decor. It’s perfect place to sit, relax and enjoy and great meal. Music played lightly in the background and it was warm and comfortable and easy to talk and be heard. The interior design of the dining area is fun to see. I really loved it. The value is not only in the food but for the whole dining experience. Great staff and friendly service. It’s my favorite breakfast spot in Quinte West now.

Food was pretty good, decor is dated but I liked it. It reminded me of the restaurant back home so it felt good. The service was the best. Our waiter (I forgot his name) was an absolute doll!
I hade the lasagna, I found it too soupy for my liking but it tasted good.

The service is extremely friendly. Crystal was our server tonight and she was so patient with giving recommendations from the menu. Our stay went past closing and she never once made us feel like we had to rush to finish our meal.

We ordered the escargot as a starter and it was very tasty. The mains we had were the liver and onions and the prime rib. The portions were massive and they were delicious! For dessert we ordered the coconut cream pie and the lemon meringue pie, and I have to say that this was the BEST coconut cream pie I’ve ever had. It just melts in your mouth I can definitely see myself wanting to get a slice whenever I’m in the area.

Will definitely be back!

After over 20 years of dining at this establishment we will no longer be returning. Although the service was per normal and enjoyed our service, the food once again has been sub par.

The rice on 2 of our shrimp dishes was cold, and extremely bland. Brocolli was practically mush. The shrimp were good, both breaded and butter fried however.

Chicken noodle soup was almost as bland as the rice.

Wife ordered linguini which was nowhere near cooked to even el dante, let alone well done as asked.

Prime rib meal and schnitzel were good however, with some of the best mashed potatoes.

All that said, 5 meals, 2 drinks, $256cdn before tip. For the price the quality should have been much higher.

It saddens me to have to say this, but the good and service we received was a real disappointment. We made reservations for dinner on a Saturday night with friends when we arrived they had no record of it. So we were seated upstairs…which was fine, but the room was very cold. We placed our orders and were advised by the waiter that they were short staffed and therefore delays.
When we finally received our food after about a 45 minute wait, the portions vs the price were disappointing.
I know that food prices are high, but overall, service, Food and comfortable ambience left much to be desired.
Probably the last time at this restaurant for us.

Absolutely great place. It’s got that fancy feel but it has a nice cozy feeling. It is really clean and spotless. You can tell they really care. The food was delicious, I especially liked the home fries!

We stumbled upon this hidden gem nestled between Toronto and Ottawa. The portions were generous, and the food quality surpassed our expectations, all at an affordable price point. The restaurant exuded a serene and stylish ambiance, with impeccable cleanliness. Our waiter, Christian, stood out with his warm and amiable service. We’ve marked this spot on the map, so we make sure to go there next time!
