TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Jennifer at the register was absolutely amazing! From the moment we walked in she greeted us with a smile and great energy. She was patient, helpful, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Customer service like that really makes a difference. Dave’s Hot Chicken already has great food, but employees like Jennifer make the visit even better. Give that woman a raise! I’ll definitely be coming back.

The chicken tenders were juicy, big, and all meat. The breading was perfect and seasoned well. Fries were perfectly cooked and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful with spice levels.

As a total newbie to Dave’s Hot Chicken, I was a little nervous diving into the hype – spicy tenders aren’t exactly my everyday order. If you’re a first-timer like I was, I had the loaded fries which had their amazing flavorful chicken, slaw, pickles, and fries with cheese and their special sauce. I ordered it mild – it’s the perfect gateway to their crispy, juicy chicken magic. I also drizzled a little honey on the chicken and love the contrast and flavors. The tenders are shatteringly crunchy on the outside, tender and flavorful inside, with that signature lightly spiced cayenne-seasoned spice that builds just right with spice—-awesome! The service? Absolute gold. Our server, super knowledgeable, and nailed every detail – from explaining the heat scale to timing our order perfectly so nothing got cold. It felt like chatting with a buddy who just gets good eats. And the atmosphere? Loved it – bright, vibrant walls popping with that signature red neon, spotless tables, and an upbeat vibe that makes you forget you’re in a quick-casual spot. Stopped into this location for lunch with my wife. The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. Jacquie was extremely attentive and friendly when engaging with us and taking our order. She made my wife’s first time here a very fun and welcomed experience. The food delivered from the kitchen was not only accurate, and efficient; it was mouth watering fresh and tasted absolutely delicious. Dave’s hot chicken is not just a restaurant, it’s a supernatural experience. The first bite I took of the Dave’s hot chicken slider made my hair stand up. It was so flavorful so crispy yet so soft and tender it felt like being rapped in a warm blanket and a kiss on the forehead from Dave himself.
