Only complaint I had is bruises on my advacado. But love the 3 egg omelet. My husband’s pancake was real thick and he said it was good! We love that you can choose breakfast items for any meal!

The pictures are from a different visit. The wait staff was very accommodating. When my husband let them know he was super light sensitive due to eye surgery, they quickly lowered the blinds and it definitely made our visit comfortable! They are also great about checking on you throughout the meal and quickly fixing an mistake on my order. Always love that we can get enough to fill us up!

The moment I walked in i was not seated or attended to. I waited over 20 minutes at the bar area not one server attend to me they walked right by me as if I didn’t exist . After waiting so long to place an order I walked to the front and asked the waitress to place an order but did not take my order but instead told me to wait I approached another waitress and finely when I told her I wanted to place a to go order she had a bad attitude. I had to wait another 30 minutes just to get my order the place wasn’t even packed. Black Bear dinner please hire people who give good service and not have to be met with a horrible experience they are the face of the company and should make the customer feel at home.

The sever was the best in the business. The food came out quickly even after the restaurant was full with large tables( 20+). Food was amazing as always and my mother said it was the best chicken fried stake she had in years. Of course we took away a to go box.

This dinner is inside the TA truckstop in Amarillo and they have the friendliest servers. They are very attentive and get what you what you need. The food is good and you will definitely never go away hungry. We usually get a scambowl and share !

I decided to try Black Bear Diner at this TA(Amarillo,TX) as I frequent this location regularly as a truck driver and enjoy trying new places. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the evening manager, Shay, who directed me to a seat but appeared disengaged and avoided eye contact, making the interaction unclear.

Dana was my server, and she was outstanding in every aspect of customer service. Her professionalism and attentiveness completely changed the experience. Had it not been for Dana, I likely would have left based on prior negative reviews.

Would not sub the cornbread muffin for toast on Bigfoot chicken fried steak. Chili came to table cold, cheese congealed and stop putting raw red onion on it. It came like 2 seconds before our meals!
Did not get hashbrowns but some greasy potatoe cubes on again raw red onion. Was greasy. Chicken fried steak meal was obviously frozen, nothing special like they wow about.

The staff appeared to be shorthanded when we stopped by to get a bite to eat. The staff that had been present were very friendly even though they were pretty busy. They did a great job keeping up with the people that were there dining as well. My husband ordered a chicken fried steak and I ordered their regular bacon breakfast. It did take a hot minute for us to get our food after our order was put in because they cook to order it is not pre made. Food was very abundant, fresh, hot and DELICIOUS!! Way worth the little bit of wait time. We will definitely dine here again if we pass back through the area

This Big Bear Diner sits inside a truck stop, so the atmosphere isn’t quite the same as the standalone restaurants. That said, the food is still great and prices are fair. Expect a true roadside mix of truckers and travelers—lively, friendly, and occasionally colorful. If you’re with kids, just note you might overhear some salty highway chatter. Otherwise, it’s another dependable Big Bear Diner: hearty plates, fast service, and good value.

This is not the first time we have had bad food. When we first started eating at Black Bear it was great but has been going downhill. Today we had the scrambowl and the first one came out like warm. We want it back and the second one was warmer but had no meat. The manager says everything is pre portioned but yet the first bowl we received had all kinds of meat. Not impressed anymore. Also the coffee had grounds in the cup

I needed to find something close to my hotel for dinner. I try to avoid fast food. I ordered the fish n chips to go. The young lady taking my order was very pleasant. She helped me in decision making as I couldn’t make up my mind.
Got back to my hotel room to eat. My meal was just ok. The flavor of both the chips and the fillets were good, however I thought the fish was slightly over cooked.
It was worth my stop though as I wanted a real meal from a real restaurant.
