Our coffee is sourced locally from roasters with over 30 years of experience roasting their own blends. Café Beignet is proud to continue the tradition of serving Chicory Coffee, first introduced by the French to New Orleans when it was still a colony of France. Chicory is a plant that is roasted through a similar process as coffee beans. Coffee and chicory are grounded separately and then combined, resulting in a most unique taste. New Orleanians have developed a love for its bolder flavor and we hope you will too! Since 1990, Café Beignet has four locations in the French Quarter with another on the way. Each of our locations offers something unique to its visitors, including live jazz, cocktails, outdoor seating (with pet friendly area…

If you’re deciding between the two locations, the corner location is the one to visit. I’ve been to both, and although they’re only about a block apart, the difference in experience is noticeable. The main location at the end of the block is much larger, offers more menu options, and the employees there are significantly friendlier. The smaller location in the middle of the block feels more limited, and the staff came across as unapproachable and unwelcoming.

The beignets are exactly what you’d expect from this Cafe —freshly fried dough covered in powdered sugar or other toppings. They come out warm and greasy, and they’re nothing like a donut, so don’t expect the same texture. If you’ve never had beignets before, they’re definitely worth trying at least once.

The catfish and fries were decent, nothing particularly memorable but still satisfying.

One thing I found strange was their merchandise—none of it had pricing displayed, and when I asked employees, they didn’t seem to know the cost. That’s a confusing and frustrating business practice.

I also ordered a latte at the smaller location, and it tasted like hot water—very disappointing.

Overall, I highly recommend going to the main corner location. The customer service is better, the menu has more variety, and the overall experience is much more enjoyable.

Connected to Sheraton hotel on Canal Street, this cafe was open till midnight, had lovely lively music, and just the most amazing vibe of friendliness, comfort, and joy. Everything that New Orleans can offer under one roof. Family friendly, brightly lit, great food, even greater service! Loved hanging out here during my recent work trip.

I wanted to try the beignets since a coworker recommended them. They were a great price for three large freshly made beignets. We went around 7:45 am. It wasn’t too busy yet. There was a piano playing by itself and you could tell that they had a space for live music. My husband got a mocha and it was hot. They had a counter with condiments and other add-ons. My husband added half and half and some sugar and he was happy with his drink. My beignets arrived fairly quickly. They were slightly steaming. The dough had an amazing flavor and the powder sugar complimented it well. I would have preferred it be lighter on the powder sugar, but it still wasn’t too sweet. The interior was pleasing to the eye though some of the chairs didn’t look very comfortable. Staff was professional.

We noticed canal street has two locations a couple blocks apart. By 10 o‘clock, the cafe was packed so we recommend trying to beat the crowd.

We took a short walk from our hotel over to Café Beignet on Canal Street. It’s a cool setup with plenty of outdoor seating. Once inside, we ordered our coffee at one end of the counter. Wifey and I opted for a couple of Cafe Mochas. Wifey got hers with whipped cream, and I went without. Then we headed to the other end to place an order for our beignets topped with pecans. They handed us a tabletop number and told us they’d bring the fresh beignets out to our table. The space was surprisingly large for a coffee shop, with multiple TVs showing the football games and even a small live band playing. It was super clean and had a nice energy overall. The beignets took a little while to come out, but that made sense since they were made fresh to order. When they arrived, they were steaming hot and very fresh. The lady who took our order and the guy who brought out the beignets were not very  personable, but that didn’t take away from the overall experience.  We loved the place, and both the coffee and beignets were excellent!

We came here in August for our Daughter’s 21st birthday. The Beignets were definitely worth trying. They were a treat. We tried the OG, chocolate, caramel pecan Beignets. Each one was very tasty. The ambiance of the place was nice. Open air concept, not too crowded, cool enough to enjoy sitting outside on hot day.

The service here is quick and simple.
With a close proximity to the Main Street, there transaction took about 5 minutes from ordering to receiving our beignets.
$4.99 plus tax gives you an order of 3 large and warm beignets, covered in powdered sugar.
We got two orders but one was good enough for the moment due to the size.

The staff were professional and polite.
The female employee who took our order, needs to be promoted to manager, if she already isn’t one.
Her interaction with the other employees showed display her care for the brand.

There is ample seating outside with cute tables and chairs to match the theme of the cafe.

We decided to try Cafe Beignet after hearing from locals that it is also a decent option to try while visiting Louisiana. Overall, the experience was mixed.

The coffee was the highlight of our visit. It was smooth, well balanced, and not bitter – easily the best part of the meal.

We also tried the beignets, the crawfish omelette, and the French toast. The beignets were just okay and did not fully meet our expectations in terms of texture and flavor. Not bad, but not something we would come back for specifically. The French toast, however, was relatively decent and enjoyable. The crawfish omelette was fine, but not particularly memorable.

One thing we did appreciate was how clear and descriptive the menu was. Each item was explained well, and it was easy to tell which dishes were vegetarian friendly. That level of clarity made ordering simple and straightforward.

Where Cafe Beignet really shines is the interior. The space is beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The jazz theme and Louisiana history reflected through artwork and large portraits on the walls were genuinely enjoyable and informative. There are also many take-home options available, such as spices, mixes, and other local items, which is a nice touch for visitors.

Overall, Cafe Beignet is a pleasant stop, especially for coffee and atmosphere. While some food items did not fully meet expectations, the coffee, interior design, and clear menu descriptions made the visit worthwhile.

Great rec from one of the locals to eat here instead of the more touristy beignet places.
Ordering was fairly easy, staff was on point with taking orders, getting food out, and keeping the location clean.
Lots of in/out traffic from tourists so expect all manner of people coming through getting food.
The beignets were great (I could’ve used less powdered sugar) and extremely fresh – you won’t go wrong w/ these. Also enjoyed the Belgian waffle as well.
Great place to order local foods and worth stopping in to. I know there’s several of these in the area so pick which one you want – I prefer this location myself for the food, people, and tourist watching.

A another must try if you’re in town! This is perfect for a quick bite or to sit and relax. I came in for a quick lunch before my event. Sometimes the line goes out the door, so be prepared. Its a very french bistro vibe. The ambiance is casual and very low key. You make the line, order what you’d like, get a number and have a sit. If you’re not alone, have someone find abd hold the table for you, if you’re alone, just go site at the bar! They have many coffee options, hot or cold. Mimosas and a bar! Their menu offers everything from breakfast, sandwiches and gumbo. You will find something no matter what time of day you go.
