We ordered a variety of appetizers, entrées, and drinks so everyone could try something different. Everything was delicious! My favorites were the carnitas tacos, salmon, fried ice cream and the coconut mojito.
They had these cool little sticks for the kids to play with (see picture), which was awesome and such a fun change from the usual crayons.
The ambiance was great! Nice decor, good vibes, and not too loud, which made for a perfect dinner experience. It is on the pricier side, but I think it’s worth trying it. We’ll definitely be coming back to try more things from the menu.
• The Standout Drinks: I started with a Carajillo, which was exceptional— strong and expertly balanced; a great way to kick off the meal. The bar at Enye is clearly a highlight, their creative cocktail list will be a major draw as there is so much more to explore.
The Food Experience:
◦ The Mango and Avocado Salad arrived fresh and beautifully presented, though it was relatively unexceptional in terms of flavor profile.
◦ For the main, I had the Pan Con Bistec. While the steak was prepared well, the sandwich itself was a bit bland initially.
◦ The Game Changer: I ordered and added their habanero sauce, it completely transformed the dish! The sauce was phenomenal and provided the exact “kick” needed to bring the flavors to life.
• Service & Atmosphere: The staff was professional and attentive, ensuring a smooth dining experience from start to finish. Honestly the service couldn’t be better. The restaurant’s modern, design makes it a great spot for a date or a night out with friends.
While some dishes lean towards a milder palette, the exceptional service and that must-try habanero sauce make it worth a visit.
Also, our waiter, Peter, was amazing. He took the time to explain each dish, cocktail, and wine on the list. He really made our dining experience special.
We started with the chips and dips, which were pretty expensive for what you get. Some of the dips were better than the others which is to be expected, but the portioning as a sampler was disappointing for the price. The chip basket was also fairly small, but I guess I’m used to less fancy restaurants giving unlimited chips and dips.
We ordered one drink each, which again were pretty expensive as well. They were good, but not good enough to go back for round two.
My wife and I both ordered the tacos. I went with one chicken, one beef and one pork. Surprisingly, I liked the chicken taco best of all three of them. Next time I probably would order three chicken, or maybe try out the fish taco to go with it.
We then decided on the empanadas based on the recommendation from the server, which were pretty tasty. The crust was flaky and the beef inside was good as well. Like other menu items, maybe a bit steep of a price, but overall a good bite.
Lastly, my wife saw the ice cream come out with the dry ice feature to the bowl. So naturally we had to order that as well. The ice cream was good, but the fruity pebble topping seemed a bit stale after it was fried. It wasn’t crunchy, but more of a stale type chewy. I was not a fan of that texture, but we definitely finished it.
As far as the spicy level for all items I tried, nothing made me go for the water. I would like to see a bit more of a kick in the salsa, but overall they were well balanced. Most people will appreciate the heat levels, but don’t expect to break a sweat or have any lingering mouth-burn.
Our service was great. We had a very attentive server who was happy to talk about the restaurant and all the things that go with it. She even grabbed me a chili that hadn’t been in a drink, so I could take it home and try to grow some of the seeds from it. That probably won’t happen, but it was kind of her to do so without even batting an eye to my silly request.
For my wife and I, six tacos, chips+dip, empanadas, two drinks and fried ice cream, we paid about $150 after tip. Not the cheapest night out, but I watched this place be built from the literal ground up while doing drop-offs/pickups at the bottom of the hill, so it was a must try for me. We will likely come back, but it’ll be a few months at least.
The ambiance is swanky yet welcoming and approachable high ceilings large windows showing the kitchen staff hard at work … big comfy booths gorgeous barstools upholstery wallpaper and warm indirect lighting — so nice to have another quality restaurant close to home. No need to drive to downtown Walnut Creek.
Sangria needs some umph. Better specimens at Parada and Limón. Maybe more time marinating? Or tip of Brandy? But the Eñye-Rita = yum.
The kitchen is new and learning the menu. Do not be shy about asking for something to be re-fired if it’s not hot enough or too salty; they’ll grow better from such constructive feedback.
French press coffee! Can I get an Amen?!
Last thought: Please Chef, consider adding Enchiladas Suisas. Love you !
