My little hostess , was amazing. I feel like we should be best friends…. I ordered to street tacos , and some enchiladas to go… After amazing service and delicious tacos in house … I get home to fine a splash of sauce in my Enchiladas…love me a good Mole… And was excited to see how wonderful it was…. My aunt takes the most pride in her homemade Mole. So. I excepted more sauce…. But… I highly recommend this place , just ask for more sauce , or wet…

This was very different than i expected. I’m really confused by the overall high ratings. My corn was dry to the cobb, I ordered 3 Barria tacos and they only gave me two. The churros tasted like they were refried and just because you put marshmallows and chocolate on top of something does not make it S’mores. The atmosphere was dead. I almost wondered if I was at the right place because it was so different than what’s online. It gave is this place going out of business vibes. The people working there were nice though and the green chile sauce was very flavorful. The Barria tacos were ‘meh. Definitely left me confused

$1 tacos on Tuesdays! I’ve tried all three tacos, the birria being my favorite out of the three! I’ve been a few times… sometimes its better and sometimes it’s not, but as a whole very solid for the price!

Visited Sonora on a Saturday evening around 8:30 PM. The dining room was approximately 1/3 full, however all of the empty tablss were dirty. I had to wait for the manager to clean a table before seating me.

I chose this location based upon proximity to my hotel and Google review rating. Unfortunately, it was a letdown.

The manager took my drink order immediately upon being seated. Several minutes later, he returned with my frozen margarita. Unfortunately, it tasted like salty water – no lime flavor and almost no tequila flavor. He apologized and re-made it on the rocks instead of frozen “using the same recipe”. The on the rocks version was still lacking any lime flavor, but at least had some tequila flavor and lacked the saltiness of the first version. For $12.00 for a “house margarita,” it was very disappointing.

My server arrived and took my order. He said he was too young to do anything with alcohol and had to refer any questions about my drinks to another server or the manager. I ordered a small queso as an appetizer and a combo plate with two chicken burritos and a cheese enchilada with rice and black beans as my entree. The food came relatively quickly (delivered by a different staff member), and my order was correct except the server never brought out the queso. I had to ask for it, at which point he blamed the kitchen for not putting it in the window.

Queso was average, the cheese enchilada was good, and the chicken burritos were decent (covered in queso), however the chicken itself was a bit dry and some pieces were tough. The sides were the real let down. The Mexican rice was a bright neon color that appeared to be artificially colored rather than taking on a natural color from tomatoes and seasoning as I’ve come to expect from other Mexican restaurants. The texture was gummy. The black beans looked appealing but tasted as if they were from a can without further seasoning.

Overall, the meal was a letdown for nearly $40 with tip. I would not recommend to other locals or out of town guests.

The entire experience was amazing! Greeted with smiles and got sat down immediately! We got drinks, chips and salsa and ask for guacamole, fast service! I swear we had our food so fast! THEY EVEN MADE OUR BIRRIA PIZZA INTO A HEART!! On Valentine’s Day that had to be the sweetest touch ever!!

Myself and my mother visited Sonora a bit after 4PM and at the time we arrived it was fairly quiet in terms of business but more showed up for dinner service as we dined. We were seated remarkably quickly and placed in a booth. Our waitress was Allie and she was very attentive with us and checked up frequently and was very friendly, coming to us with a smile. The atmosphere was alright but personally not to our tastes..atmosphere is subjective after all.

I ordered the Queso Con Chorizo and my mom had the plain Queso as a starter with their Flour Chips. Flour chips were served warm and reasonably crisp and soft at the same time. The Queso was great. It was smooth and flavorful. The Con Chorizo was just as good with a bold savory taste.

I ordered the Chicken Fiesta Tacos that came with beans and rice. They were quite wonderful and I cleaned my tray before I could get a photo.

My mother ordered the Chicken Fajitas. The Fajitas were flavorful and the chicken was juicy and tender. Whilst some of the peppers were a tad undercooked the flavor more than made up for it.

I was unable to obtain photos as we cleaned our plates rather quickly. All in all I give Sonora Mexican Grill Five Stars. I will be coming again when I am in Ashland and in the mood for Mexican.

Pricing is roughly $20-40 for two people.

I have yet to go to an authentic Mexican Restaurant that I loved this much!! The atmosphere was beautiful, lovely and so colorful! The all art was gorgeous and the floral designs were beautifully crafted! The staff were super friendly and happy, dancing when done fun came on and generally just great people! Then there is the food… my goodness it was delicious! Everything was super flavorful and greatly portioned! The chicken was easy to cut and the rice and beans were nice and warm and so tasty! Will definitely be going back often!

Best Mexican restaurant we’ve ever experienced. Very friendly service. Flaming fajitas were
the best I’ve had in 10 years! Great margarita, too. Birria tacos were the best ever. So glad we discovered Sonora while we were in town. So sad that 12 hours is too far to drive to get back here!
